The Boolean algebra of Galois algebras

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2003
Let B be a Galois algebra with Galois group G, Jg={b∈B|bx=g(x)b for all x∈B} for each g∈G, and BJg=Beg for a central idempotent eg, Ba the Boolean algebra generated by {0,eg|g∈G}, e a nonzero element in Ba, and He={g∈G|eeg=e}.

Ultra‐strong phosphorescence with 48% quantum yield from grinding treated thermal annealed carbon dots and boric acid composite

open access: yesSmartMat, 2022
Metal‐free room‐temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials are of great significance for many applications; however, they usually exhibit low efficiency and weak intensity. This article reports a new strategy for the preparation of a high‐efficiency and

Mammalian cells in culture actively export specific microRNAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) as a new class of regulators of gene expression has triggered an explosion of research, but has left many unanswered questions about how this regulation works and how it is integrated with other regulatory mechanisms ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

The Boolean algebra and central Galois algebras

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
Let B be a Galois algebra with Galois group G, Jg={b∈B∣bx=g(x)b   for all   x∈B} for g∈G, and BJg=Beg for a central idempotent eg. Then a relation is given between the set of elements in the Boolean algebra (Ba,≤) generated by {0,eg∣g∈G} and a set of ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Beneficial effects of barium on the growth, physiology and productivity of wheat

open access: yesScientific Reports
Barium, known to be a toxic element to plants, can adversely affect the photosynthesis and growth of plants at high doses but its effects at low doses on the growth and productivity of wheat are unknown.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
