Nanometric Surficial Reflectors: Achieving High‐Performance and High‐Throughput Structural Coloration Through Modulation‐Assisted Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 4, 19 January 2026.
A novel approach is proposed to structural coloration overcomes the challenge of achieving high performance, color consistency, and scalability. This work introduces a single‐layer, wavelength‐selective reflector fabricated by a scalable, modulation‐assisted machining process.

A Tree‐Based Scan Statistic for Detecting Signals of Drug–Drug Interactions in Spontaneous Reporting Databases

open access: yesPharmaceutical Statistics, Volume 25, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT The concomitant use of multiple drugs increases the risk of adverse events (AEs) due to drug–drug interactions (DDIs), which remain challenging to identify since clinical trials primarily focus on individual drugs, necessitating postmarket safety monitoring through spontaneous reporting systems.

Advances in Characterising Dielectric Materials at Microwave Frequencies Using Circular Open Waveguides

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 62, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The dielectric characterisation method using an open circular waveguide, while widely recognised for its advantages, faces key limitations such as multiple solutions during data extraction and an imperfect calibration process. Our research introduces solutions that ensure convergence toward a unique result and enhance calibration accuracy, particularly

MetaZooGene Intercalibration Experiment (MZG‐ICE): Metabarcoding Marine Zooplankton Diversity of the Global Ocean

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT DNA metabarcoding of zooplankton biodiversity is used increasingly for monitoring global ocean ecosystems, requiring comparable data from different research laboratories and ocean regions. The MetaZooGene Intercalibration Experiment (MZG‐ICE) was designed to examine1 and analyse patterns of variation of DNA sequence data resulting from multi ...

Wider Than Expected: Geographic Range and Genetic Diversity of a Commercially Farmed and Traded “Cottonii” Seaweed Kappaphycus malesianus

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
The study expands the known distribution of Kappaphycus malesianus beyond the southern Philippines by documenting new wild populations in Luzon and Visayas through multilocus phylogenetic analyses. High genetic diversity, novel haplotypes, and a key genetic link between farmed and wild populations across distant regions were identified, revealing ...
