Nanometric Surficial Reflectors: Achieving High‐Performance and High‐Throughput Structural Coloration Through Modulation‐Assisted Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 4, 19 January 2026.
A novel approach is proposed to structural coloration overcomes the challenge of achieving high performance, color consistency, and scalability. This work introduces a single‐layer, wavelength‐selective reflector fabricated by a scalable, modulation‐assisted machining process.

Diffractive Nonlinear Geometrical Optics for Variational Wave Equations and the Einstein Equations

open access: yes, 2005
We derive an asymptotic solution of the vacuum Einstein equations that describes the propagation and diffraction of a localized, large-amplitude, rapidly-varying gravitational wave.

Dynamics of Entanglement Transfer Through Multipartite Dissipative Systems

open access: yes, 2010
We study the dynamics of entanglement transfer in a system composed of two initially correlated three-level atoms, each located in a cavity interacting with its own reservoir.

Interrogating Seyferts with NebulaBayes: Spatially probing the narrow-line region radiation fields and chemical abundances

open access: yes, 2018
NebulaBayes is a new Bayesian code that implements a general method of comparing observed emission-line fluxes to photoionization model grids. The code enables us to extract robust, spatially resolved measurements of abundances in the extended narrow ...

Estimating the number of change-points in a two-dimensional segmentation model without penalization

open access: yes, 2015
In computational biology, numerous recent studies have been dedicated to the analysis of the chromatin structure within the cell by two-dimensional segmentation methods.

Characterization theorem for the conditionally computable real functions

open access: yes, 2017
The class of uniformly computable real functions with respect to a small subrecursive class of operators computes the elementary functions of calculus, restricted to compact subsets of their domains.

Atomic Diffusion and Mixing in Old Stars I. VLT/FLAMES-UVES Observations of Stars in NGC 6397

open access: yes, 2007
We present a homogeneous photometric and spectroscopic analysis of 18 stars along the evolutionary sequence of the metal-poor globular cluster NGC 6397 ([Fe/H] = -2), from the main-sequence turnoff point to red giants below the bump.
