Optimizing Currency Factors

open access: yesFinancial Review, Volume 60, Issue 4, Page 1389-1414, November 2025.
ABSTRACT We introduce a novel framework that dynamically optimizes currency factor strategies via trading currency spot and forward. We examine the performance of 24,336 portfolio optimization approaches and find that the optimized currency factors significantly outperform the naïve factors after correcting for data snooping bias.

Capabilities of Statistical Residual-Based Control Charts in Short- and Long-Term Stock Trading

open access: yesNaše Gospodarstvo, 2016
The aim of this paper is to introduce and develop additional statistical tools to support the decision-making process in stock trading. The prices of CROBEX10 index stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange were used in the paper.

Canonical treatment of two dimensional gravity as an anomalous gauge theory

open access: yes, 1993
The extended phase space method of Batalin, Fradkin and Vilkovisky is applied to formulate two dimensional gravity in a general class of gauges. A BRST formulation of the light-cone gauge is presented to reveal the relationship between the BRST symmetry ...

Boosts in Polarization and Piezoelectric Responses of Lead‐Free Ferroelectrics through Strain‐Enhanced Glassy Coexistent Polars with High Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
An effective strategy by constructing strain‐enhanced glassy coexistent polars near ferroelectric tricritical point to simultaneously improve polarization response and reduce energy loss is uncovered in (Ba0.84Ca0.16)0.985Bi0.01(Ti0.9Zr0.07Sn0.03)1‐x/100Hfx/100O3 (xHf) system and verified by phase‐field simulations with supporting high resolution ...

Green Fluorescent Protein SELEX: Immobilization Chemistry and His‐Tag Epitope Bias

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 40, September 26, 2025.
Using green fluorescent proteins (GFP) as a target for SELEX, the untagged protein results in true protein‐binding aptamers, whereas using the His‐tagged protein results in aptamers biased toward the His‐tag epitope. The His‐tagged GFP provides a simple test for potential artifacts in previously selected aptamers for other His‐tagged proteins ...

A Jang Equation Approach to the Penrose Inequality

open access: yes, 2009
We introduce a generalized version of the Jang equation, designed for the general case of the Penrose Inequality in the setting of an asymptotically flat space-like hypersurface of a spacetime satisfying the dominat energy condition.

Aberrant Glycosylation of IgG in Children With Active Lupus Nephritis Alters Podocyte Metabolism and Causes Podocyte Injury

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 77, Issue 10, Page 1421-1432, October 2025.
Objective Podocytes are integral to the maintenance of the glomerular filtration barrier. Their injury results in proteinuria and disease progression in lupus nephritis (LN). Aberrant IgG glycosylation drives podocyte injury in LN and leads to cytoskeletal rearrangement, motility changes, and decreased nephrin production.

Financing Constraints and the Family Farm: How do Families React? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper explores the idea that off-farm income is used for investment in farm assets. Using Alabama farm data for the 1997-2004 period, we find that farm investment is more sensitive to off-farm than to on-farm income, and that this sensitivity is ...

Friedmann limits of rotating hypersurface-homogeneous dust models

open access: yes, 2001
The existence of Friedmann limits is systematically investigated for all the hypersurface-homogeneous rotating dust models, presented in previous papers by this author. Limiting transitions that involve a change of the Bianchi type are included.
