Identification and characterization of the elusive protein backbone of the immuno-dominant and species-specific Em2(G11) metacestode antigen of Echinococcus multilocularis [PDF]
Alveolar echinococcosis (AE) caused by Echinococcus multilocularis, is a severe zoonotic disease in humans. One of the major metacestode antigens of E. multilocularis is the Em2 or Em2(G11) native purified antigen.

Pentaquark at JLab: the g11 experiment in CLAS [PDF]
After the claiming of the possible discovery of a pentaquark state, many experiments reported positive and negative results opening a discussion about the pentaquark existence. New experiments with high resolution and high statistics are needed to solve the controversy.

Hemoglobin San Diego (β109 (G11) Val→Met) CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF THE DEOXY FORM [PDF]
The three-dimensional structure of deoxyhemoglobin San Diego has been solved to 3.5 A resolution using mixed crystals of the variant hemoglobin and hemoglobin A. The site of the amino acid replacement can be clearly located in the difference electron density map and is consistent with the chemical result (beta109 Val-->Met) discussed in the preceding ...

Characterization of a Novel P[25],G11 Human Group A Rotavirus [PDF]
ABSTRACT A novel rotavirus strain (Dhaka6) isolated from a 21-year-old Bangladeshi male patient was characterized by sequence analysis of its VP7 and VP4 gene segments. Phylogenetic analysis of the VP7 gene of the Dhaka6 strain revealed a common evolutionary lineage with porcine G11 rotavirus strains.

A novel human rotavirus serotype with dual G5-G11 specificity.
Rotavirus serotype G5 isolates were recently recovered from children with diarrhoea in Brazil. Like most human strains, they exhibited long electropherotypes and subgroup II and Wa-like VP4 specificity. We report the successful propagation and the molecular and antigenic characterization of one of these isolates (IAL-28). Cross-neutralization of IAL-28

Reassortment of Human Rotavirus Gene Segments into G11 Rotavirus Strains
G11 rotaviruses are believed to be of porcine origin. However, a limited number of G11 rotaviruses have been recently isolated from humans in combination with P[25], P[8], P[6], and P[4]. To investigate the evolutionary relationships of these strains, we

Characterization of a G11,P[4] Strain of Human Rotavirus Isolated in South Korea [PDF]
ABSTRACT A novel human rotavirus strain, CUK-1, containing a G11 type combined with a P[4] type was isolated from a 1-year-old female patient with fever and severe diarrhea at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Incheon, South Korea. This CUK-1 strain showed the highest degree of nucleic acid similarity (98.7% and 93%) to G11 Dhaka6 and P[4] RV 5 ...

Thyrocyte-specific Gq/G11 deficiency impairs thyroid function and prevents goiter development [PDF]
The function of the adult thyroid is regulated by thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), which acts through a G protein-coupled receptor. Overactivation of the TSH receptor results in hyperthyroidism and goiter. The Gs-mediated stimulation of adenylyl cyclase-dependent cAMP formation has been regarded as the principal intracellular signaling mechanism ...
