Temperature-dependent tensile and shear response of graphite/aluminum [PDF]

open access: yes
The thermo-mechanical response of unidirectional P100 graphite fiber/6061 aluminum matrix composites was investigated at four temperatures:-150, +75, +250, and +500 F.

Non-local Andreev reflection under ac bias

open access: yes, 2009
We theoretically analyze non-local electron transport in multi-terminal normal-metal-superconductor-normal-metal (NSN) devices in the presence of an external ac voltage bias.

Narrow Linewidth Laser Based on Extended Topological Interface States in 1D Photonic Crystals

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel 1D‐TISE‐PhC semiconductor laser structure achieving uniform photon distribution, reduced linewidth (126 kHz), robust single‐mode performance (SMSR up to 50 dB), precise wavelength control, and tolerance to fabrication variations, demonstrated experimentally in an eight‐channel array.

The “autumn effect” in the gold market—does it contradict the Adaptive Market Hypothesis?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management and Economics
The present study aims to verify the autumn effect in the gold market, first presented 10 years ago by Dirk Baur in the paper “The autumn effect of gold” and to investigate the calendar effects occurring for other precious metals. This empirical research

Self‐Coacervation of Oligo(ethylene glycol) and Oligo(2‐ethyl‐2‐oxazoline)‐Based Double Hydrophilic Brush Block Copolymers in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Here, the formation of double hydrophilic brush block copolymer‐based simple coacervates is presented. The system phase separates into polymer‐enriched droplets at elevated concentrations. The addition of guest polymers and biomacromolecules shows a distinct partitioning behaviour.

Noise correlations of one-dimensional Bose mixtures in optical lattices

open access: yes, 2010
We study the noise correlations of one-dimensional binary Bose mixtures, as a probe of their quantum phases. In previous work, we found a rich structure of many-body phases in such mixtures, such as paired and counterflow superfluidity.

Non‐Gaussian Random Vibration Test by Control of Multiple Correlation Coefficients, Skewnesses, and Kurtoses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Non‐Gaussian random vibrations have gained more attention in the dynamics‐research community due to the frequently encountered non‐Gaussian dynamic environments in engineering practice. This work proposes a novel non‐Gaussian random vibration test method by simultaneous control of multiple correlation coefficients, skewness, and kurtoses.

The functional form of yield curves [PDF]

open access: yes
Yield curves built from liquid instruments tend to exhibit specific features, both in term of smoothness and in term of patterns. The paper presents empirical evidence that those liquid yiled curves frequently conform to a specific functional form.
