MEMS‐Based Magnetoelectric Antennas for Wireless Power Transmission in Brain‐Implantable Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magnetoelectric (ME) antennas allow the minimization of the invasiveness of brain implantable devices, via powering wirelessly systems able to actuate neural tissue. In order to achieve the necessary power efficiency transmission, the choice of the materials and the system assembly is vital.

Modulational instability in binary spin-orbit-coupled Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yes, 2020
We study modulation instability (MI) of flat states in two-component spin-orbit-coupled (SOC) Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in the framework of coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equations for two components of the pseudospinor wave function.

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Non-local Andreev reflection under ac bias

open access: yes, 2009
We theoretically analyze non-local electron transport in multi-terminal normal-metal-superconductor-normal-metal (NSN) devices in the presence of an external ac voltage bias.

Broadband Achromatic Programmable Electromagnetic Camouflage via Fluidic‐Accessible Metasurface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fluidic access metasurface enables dynamic, broadband electromagnetic illusions. By physically reconstructing conductive patterns with liquid metal, the metasurface achieves real‐time, pixel‐level control over phase dispersion. This allows for the programmable generation of arbitrary strong scattering point arrays, effectively deceiving high ...

Optimal Holding Period of an Investment Property Under Different Systems of Income Taxation – An Individual Investor’s Perspective

open access: yesReal Estate Management and Valuation, 2022
Taxes, particularly income tax, may affect how long investors decide to hold on to an investment property. There exists a research gap regarding the implications of a distributed profit-based taxation system for the holding period of an investment asset.

Eco‐Efficient Processing and Refining Routes for Secondary Raw Materials from Silicon Ingot and Wafer Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The ICARUS project developed pilot‐scale processes to recover and refine secondary raw materials from silicon photovoltaic (PV) ingot and wafer manufacturing waste. Silicon kerf, graphite, and silica residues are purified into high‐value inputs for the PV value chain and beyond.

Density-matrix functional theory of the Hubbard model: An exact numerical study

open access: yes, 1999
A density functional theory for many-body lattice models is considered in which the single-particle density matrix is the basic variable. Eigenvalue equations are derived for solving Levy's constrained search of the interaction energy functional W, which
