Equine rotaviruses with G14 serotype specificity circulate among venezuelan horses

Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1994
Two group A rotavirus strains isolated from diarrheic foals in Venezuela were classified as belonging to G14 serotype by cross-neutralization tests and on the basis of the homology of the sequenced VP7 gene. This report confirms that rotavirus strains of G14 serotype specificity circulate among equine populations.

Hb CANTERBURY [β112(G14)Cys → Phe]: A NEW, MILDLY UNSTABLE VARIANT

Hemoglobin, 2002
Hb Canterbury [β112(G14)Cys → Phe] was detected fortuitously when a supposed normal lysate was used as a control for an isopropanol stability test.

Characterization of a G14 equine rotavirus (strain CH3) isolated in Japan

Archives of Virology, 1994
Antigenic and genomic properties of equine rotavirus strain CH3 isolated in Japan were studied by cross-neutralization tests and nucleotide sequence determination of the VP4 and VP7 genes. It was shown that the strain CH3 belongs to G14 and shares VP4 genotype with strain H2.

Hb Toranomon [β112(G14)Cys → Trp]: A New Unstable Electrophoretically Silent Hemoglobin

Hemoglobin, 1996
We describe a silent and unstable hemoglobin variant, Hb Toranomon, which was discovered by high performance liquid chromatography in an apparently healthy Japanese male during a Hb A1c assay. Isoelectrofocusing of his hemolysate and chromatographic separation of globin on a CM-cellulose column revealed no abnormality.

Susceptibility of the ∅X-like phages G4 and G14 to R · EcoRI endonuclease

Virology, 1974
Abstract Unlike ΦX174 and S13, the RF I and RF II DNA of the new ΦX-like phages G4 and G14 (Godson, 1974) are cut by the R1 R-factor restriction enzyme (Eco RI) into unit length RF III linear DNA molecules. The cut is specific and is located in the Haemophilus influenzae restriction enzyme fragments G4 HinB (900 nucleotides) and G14 HinA (1200 ...

Genomic RNA constellation of recently emerging serotype G14 equine rotavirus strains in Japan that is highly homologous with prototype G3 and G14 strains previously identified in the United States of America

Archives of Virology, 2003
Serotype G14 was once considered to be uncommon among equine rotaviruses. While it sporadically emerged in some parts of the world, serotype G14 became the dominant G serotype among rotaviruses detected in foals with diarrhea in Japan in the late 1990s.

G14 Quality improvement: improving management of paediatrics sepsis in busy district general hospital

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT; EMBEDDING A CULTURE OF QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, 2019
Background The Quality improvement programme was undertaken to improve management of sepsis in children 0–16 years, who attend Children’s Emergency Department at Basildon University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A new Paediatric Sepsis tool was developed and piloted and rolled out in May 2018. Intervention The 100 case notes were reviewed. The data
