Characterization of a G14 equine rotavirus (strain CH3) isolated in Japan
Archives of Virology, 1994Antigenic and genomic properties of equine rotavirus strain CH3 isolated in Japan were studied by cross-neutralization tests and nucleotide sequence determination of the VP4 and VP7 genes. It was shown that the strain CH3 belongs to G14 and shares VP4 genotype with strain H2.

G14 Are Healthcare Professionals able to Estimate the Surface Area of a Burn in a Child?
Archives of Disease in Childhood, 2014Aims When different Healthcare Professionals estimate the surface area of a burn there can be significant discrepancies. This is particularly true in Paediatrics, where there are several methods commonly used to make this calculation. Errors in estimation may have a real impact on the acute management of a child.

Hb Toranomon [β112(G14)Cys → Trp]: A New Unstable Electrophoretically Silent Hemoglobin
Hemoglobin, 1996We describe a silent and unstable hemoglobin variant, Hb Toranomon, which was discovered by high performance liquid chromatography in an apparently healthy Japanese male during a Hb A1c assay. Isoelectrofocusing of his hemolysate and chromatographic separation of globin on a CM-cellulose column revealed no abnormality.

A Case of Hemoglobin Indianapolis [β112(G14) Cys→Arg] in an Individual from Cordoba, Spain
Hemoglobin, 1986Hemoglobin Indianapolis was first described by Adams et al (1,2) as a very unstable variant with a phenotype similar to severe beta-thalassemia. We have also characterized this variant, but there are several differences in the clinical expression of the variant described in our report and those described in the original case.
