Parameter investigation for urban surface‐energy balance: A large‐eddy simulation study

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Large eddy simulation modelling is used to investigate the variation in surface‐energy balance (SEB) across an ensemble of morphometrically identical urban geometries. The geometries have the same plan‐area fraction, vegetated fraction, and frontal‐area index, but are unique in terms of building and green‐space layout.

An engineered epididymal cell line provides a sustainable source of functional extracellular vesicles for in vitro sperm preservation: A multi‐omics and functional study

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the function of epididymal extracellular vesicles (EVs) in overcoming sperm post‐testicular modification deficiencies. Although EVs derived from the epididymis play a crucial role in intercellular communication and molecular exchange, there is limited research addressing how EVs released by in vitro cultured epididymal ...

HTL Resummation of the Thermodynamic Potential [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Starting from the Phi-derivable approximation scheme at leading-loop order, the thermodynamical potential in a hot scalar theory, as well as in QED and QCD, is expressed in terms of hard thermal loop propagators.

Expression of the G72/G30 gene in transgenic mice induces behavioral changes [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Psychiatry, 2013
The G72/G30 gene complex is a candidate gene for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. However, G72 and G30 mRNAs are expressed at very low levels in human brain, with only rare splicing forms observed. We report here G72/G30 expression profiles and behavioral changes in a G72/G30 transgenic mouse model.

Primary open‐angle glaucoma as a marker of upcoming Alzheimer's disease: A 20‐year Danish National Registry‐Based Study

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To investigate whether primary open‐angle glaucoma (POAG) is associated with an increased long‐term risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, given its shared neurodegenerative features. Methods A 20‐year longitudinal, registry‐based matched cohort study was conducted using Danish national health registries from 1998 to 2018. Individuals

Default Prediction in the Finance Industry Based on Ensemble Learning: Combining Machine Learning and Deep Learning

open access: yesBusiness Systems Research
Financial institutions face significant challenges in predicting loan defaults, which directly impact the non-performing loan (NPL) rate. Incorrect predictions can lead to misinformed decisions and substantial financial losses.

Does deterioration in rule of law per se create or destroy value?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management and Economics, 2023
We investigate the link between the rule of law and equity returns in post-transitional economies over the period January 2010–December 2020 by using panel data regressions.

Group Theory and Dynamics of Neutrino Mixing

open access: yes, 2011
There is a direct group-theoretical connection between neutrino mixing and horizontal symmetry that can be established without any dynamical input. Such a connection is reviewed and expanded in this article.
