Cognitive Factor Structure: The g Factor
2018One century of intelligence research, generally performed on samples from developed countries, has shown the existence of a general model of intelligence (or g factor). In our study, we tested this model using data from the SLATINT Project. A positive manifold of correlations was found and results from SEM modeling (Structural Equation Modeling), using

Crystallographic studies of elongation factor G
Biochemistry and Cell Biology, 1995The elongation factors G (EF-G) and Tu (EF-Tu) go through a number of conformation states in their functional cycles. Since they both are GTPases, have similar G domains and domains II, and have similar interactions with the nucleotides, then GTP hydrolysis must occur in similar ways.

In 1919, the young theoretician Alfred Lande (1888–1976) in Frankfurt am Main showed in his habilitation thesis that satisfactory agreement could be reached between observed splittings of spectral lines in the Zeeman effect if one assumed that, in general, electrons contribute more to the total energy of the system than had been expected according to ...

Beam-foil g-factor measurements
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1973Abstract Techniques applied to the measurement of atomic g -factors of levels of foil- or gas-excited fast beam ions are described. These techniques include optical Zeeman spectroscopy, radio-frequency spectroscopy, and quantum beat measurements. Special characteristics and apparatus associated with these techniques are discussed and compared.

Henry G Kunkel and Rheumatoid Factor
Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2019Henry Kunkel was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1916. He died in 1983 at the early age of 67. He was an outstanding clinical scholar who had a deep passion for scientific facts. Almost all his scientific life was involved in biomedical research at the Rockefeller University in New York City.

Abstract The g factor of Li-like ions in the range Z = 6–92 is evaluated. The interelectronic-interaction corrections of order 1/ Z 2 and higher are taken into account by the configuration-interaction Dirac–Fock method. This result is combined with the 1/ Z term derived within a rigorous QED approach.

(g, f)-Factors and [a, b]-Factors
2011In this chapter we investigate (g, f)-factors and [a, b]-factors, which are natural generalizations of f-factors and regular factors, respectively. We first give a criterion for a graph to have a (g, f)-factor, which is called the (g, f)-factor theorem. Then we obtain some sufficient conditions for graphs to have (g, f)- factors and [a, b]-factors.

Transition-metal g factor trends
Journal of Physics F: Metal Physics, 1982The author presents theoretical estimates of the average over the Fermi surface of the g factor for 24 elements in the 3d, 4d and 5d transition series. The calculations were performed using a simple model in which the results depend only on crystal structure, the ratio of the spin-orbit coupling parameter to the d band width and the number of occupied ...
