Gain enhancement of antipodal vivaldi antenna

2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2018
Due to the broadband requirements in the field of communication, Ultra-Wide Band antennas have become popular nowadays. In this study, an antipodal Vivaldi antenna with UWB and compact design was investigated for X band applications. The antenna features have been developed using Defective Ground Surfaces (DGS) and dielectric lenses.

Iterative Gain Enhancement in an Algorithmic ADC

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2016
This paper presents a 14.9-bit 3.57-MS/s algorithmic ADC that uses iterative gain enhancement, a technique that uses multiple clock phases to increase the effective op-amp gain in a switched-capacitor circuit. Using an op-amp that gives only 30-dB loop gain in a feedback circuit without gain enhancement, application of the iterative gain enhancement ...

A high gain CMOS operational amplifier with negative conductance gain enhancement

Proceedings of the IEEE 2002 Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (Cat. No.02CH37285), 2003
A fully differential CMOS operational amplifier using a negative conductance gain enhancement technique is presented. The amplifier was fabricated in an AMI 0.5 /spl mu/m CMOS process with an active area of 0.17 mm/sup 2/. With a 3 V supply, a DC gain of more than 80 dB was measured. The gain exceeded 60 dB for a 240 mV output swing.

Gain Enhancement of Microstrip Antenna

2018 International Conference on Advanced Computation and Telecommunication (ICACAT), 2018
Microstrip antennas are very popular in recent decades due to its small size, low cost, light weight, and easy fabrication. This antenna has many useful characteristics like thin profile, both linear and circular polarization, dual frequency operation possible, and with any shape.

Microcavity enhanced Raman gain

Optics Communications, 1997
Abstract The cavity QED behavior of stimulated Raman gain within a droplet microcavity was experimentally investigated. Stimulated Raman scattering thresholds were measured as a function of microdroplet size and composition. Gain enhancements were estimated by comparing measured thresholds to reported values for liquid core fibers having equivalent ...

Simultaneous gain and phase-shift enhancements in periodic gain structures

Journal of Applied Physics, 1990
The recently proposed concept of periodic gain, i.e., dividing the active region into segments placed at optical electric-field standing wave maxima, has been shown to greatly reduce the threshold gain requirement of the active media by up to a factor of 2 in high-finesse vertical cavity surface-emitting lasers.

Image Enhancement by Gain-Limited Histogram Equalization

IEEE EUROCON 2021 - 19th International Conference on Smart Technologies, 2021
This study is devoted to the problem of improving digital image and video in real-time applications. This paper looks at the task of enhancing images in automatic mode without distortions and loss of information. This work addresses the challenge of improving the effectiveness of image enhancement based on the use of the technique of clipped histogram ...

Gain-enhanced optical coherence in a high optical gain semiconductor

Physics Letters A, 2012
Abstract The propagation of ultrashort pulses in a traveling wave semiconductor amplifier is considered. It is demonstrated that the effective polarization relaxation time, which determines the coherence of the interaction of pulses within the medium, strongly depends on its optical gain.

Gain Enhancement Techniques for Monolithically Integrated Antennas

2020 International Workshop on Integrated Nonlinear Microwave and Millimetre-Wave Circuits (INMMiC), 2020
Two gain enhancement techniques for monolithically integrated monopole antennas are presented in this work. The proposed configurations have been designed in a standard 0.13 μm SiGe BiCMOS process. In the first one, Split Ring Resonators (SRRs) have been combined with Localized Backside Etching (LBE).

Gain enhancement in Raman amplifiers with broadband pumping

Optics Letters, 1980
We have observed near-monochromatic gains in a Raman amplifier pumped by a laser with a bandwidth up to 30 times wider than the molecular linewidth. This gain enhancement is obtained when the corresponding temporal fine structure of the pump and Stokes waveforms are superimposed in the amplifier.
