Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Scheduling and Codeword Length Optimization in Time Varying Wireless Networks

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, a downlink scenario in which a single-antenna base station communicates with K single antenna users, over a time-correlated fading channel, is considered.

Adaptive Fuzzy Gain Scheduling of PI Controller for Control of the Wind Energy Conversion Systems

open access: yes, 2015
In this work, the Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) based on doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) model is built. First, we consider the vector control strategy of the active and reactive powers in order to ensure an optimum operation.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

A Gain-Scheduling PI Control Based on Neural Networks

open access: yesComplexity, 2017
This paper presents a gain-scheduling design technique that relies upon neural models to approximate plant behaviour. The controller design is based on generic model control (GMC) formalisms and linearization of the neural model of the process.

Energy Harvesting Cooperative Networks: Is the Max-Min Criterion Still Diversity-Optimal?

open access: yes, 2014
This paper considers a general energy harvesting cooperative network with M source-destination (SD) pairs and one relay, where the relay schedules only m user pairs for transmissions.

Gain scheduled flight control law for a flexible aircraft : A practical approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Abstract: This paper presents a gain-scheduling method applied to flight control law design. The method is a stabilitypreservinginterpolation technique ofexisting controllers under observer-state feedback form.
