Linear predictive modelling of gait patterns

2009 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2009
The use of a wearable triaxial accelerometer for unsupervised monitoring of human movement has become a major research focus in recent years. In this paper, the relationship between accelerometry signals and human gait is analysed using a linear prediction (LP) model. We explore the use of the LP model for analysing five gait patterns and show that the

Gait patterns

2010
Horse racing is a popular sport in many countries for racing on the flat, over obstacles, and with carts, because of the associated gambling. The wide range of bets available have attracted wide academic interest in predicting the outcomes, testing for efficiency of the betting markets, constructing betting systems, and predicting the turnover.

Quantifying gait patterns in Parkinson's disease

13th International Conference on Medical Information Processing and Analysis, 2017
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is constituted by a set of motor symptoms, namely tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia, which are usually described but not quantified. This work proposes an objective characterization of PD gait patterns by approximating the single stance phase a single grounded pendulum.

Foot pressure patterns during gait

Journal of Biomedical Engineering, 1985
Peak pressure and temporal parameters of foot function were determined in 21 men and 11 women; few differences between men and women in any of the parameters were observed, either when walking barefoot or when wearing shoes. However, significant differences were observed when barefoot and shod walking were compared.

Patterns and assessment of spastic hemiplegic gait

Muscle & Nerve
AbstractHemiparetic gait disorders are common in stroke survivors. A circumductory gait is often considered the typical hemiparetic gait. In clinical practice, a wide spectrum of abnormal gait patterns is observed, depending on the severity of weakness and spasticity, and the anatomical distribution of spasticity. Muscle strength is the key determinant

Gait Pattern of Professional Fencers

2004
This study used a comprehensive approach, including kinematic and EMG data analysis to determine how normal gait patterns may change as a result of professional non-cyclical sport activity and to determine the electromiographical pattern of m. adductor longus. The study was performed on 37 professional fencers and 68 healthy nonprofessional subjects as
