Terrestrial Analogs to Titan for Geophysical Research

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Saturn's moon Titan exhibits remarkable parallels to the Earth in many geophysical and geological processes not found elsewhere in the solar system at the present day. These include a nitrogen atmosphere with a condensible gas—methane—replacing the Earth's water, leading to an active meteorology with rainfall and surface manifestations ...

Kinematics and composition of the Galactic bulge: recent progress

open access: yes, 2007
We present recent results from a Keck study of the composition of the Galactic bulge, as well as results from the bulge Bulge Radial Velocity Assay (BRAVA).

High‐Latitude GPS Position Error During Substorms

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Substorms produce rapid fluctuations in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals, leading to degraded positioning performance at high latitudes. This study investigates the correlation of auroral structures on Global Positioning System (GPS) Precise Point Positioning (PPP) error during three substorm events with different strengths ...

OGLE-2014-BLG-1760: A Jupiter–Sun Analogue Residing in the Galactic Bulge

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We present the analysis of OGLE-2014-BLG-1760, a planetary system in the galactic bulge. We combine Keck Adaptive Optics follow-up observations in K -band with re-reduced light-curve data to confirm the source and lens star identifications and stellar ...

Dynamics of the Galactic Bulge [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1993
Recent work on the intrinsic shape, the internal kinematics of stars and gas, and the dynamics of the Galactic Bulge is discussed. Starcounts, measurements of the integrated light and the kinematics of the atomic and molecular gas all provide strong evidence that the Bulge is triaxial, and is rotating fairly rapidly.

Interstellar extinction toward the Galactic bulge

open access: yes, 2019
The past decade has seen rapid progress in studies on the Galactic bulge thanks to many large-scale surveys in both photometric and spectroscopic approaches.

Light-curve Recovery with Rubin-LSST. II. Unveiling the Darkness of the Galactic Bulge (VESTALE) with RR Lyrae

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
This work is part of VESTALE, a project initiated within the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) Cadence Strategy Optimization Process. Its goal is to explore the potential of Rubin-LSST observations aimed at the Galactic bulge (henceforth just “Bulge”

The mass and stellar populations of the Galactic bulge

open access: yes, 2019
I will present the results of the GIRAFFE Inner Bulge Survey, with particular emphasis on the spatial distributions of the two metallicity populations, and their contribution to the total stellar mass budget of the Galactic bulge.
