Artificial Intelligence‐Assisted Workflow for Transmission Electron Microscopy: From Data Analysis Automation to Materials Knowledge Unveiling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
AI‐Assisted Workflow for (Scanning) Transmission Electron Microscopy: From Data Analysis Automation to Materials Knowledge Unveiling. Abstract (Scanning) transmission electron microscopy ((S)TEM) has significantly advanced materials science but faces challenges in correlating precise atomic structure information with the functional properties of ...

Multiwavelength Observations of Sgr A*. II. 2019 July 21 and 26

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report on the final two days of a multiwavelength campaign of Sgr A* observing in the radio, submillimeter, infrared (IR), and X-ray bands in 2019 July. Sgr A* was remarkably active, showing multiple flaring events across the electromagnetic spectrum.

The Galactic Center Magnetosphere

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2006
The magnetic field within a few hundred parsecs of the center of the Galaxy is an essential component of any description of that region. The field has several pronounced observational manifestations: 1) morphological structures such as nonthermal radio filaments (NTFs) -- magnetic flux tubes illuminated by synchrotron emission from relativistic ...

Dimensionally Resolved Nanostructures of an Atomically Precise and Optically Active 1D van der Waals Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The ability to grow nanostructures based on inorganic helical crystals with long‐range order will enable a platform to realize physical states that arise from chirality. Herein, it is demonstrated that controlled vapor phase deposition of an atomically precise helical crystal, GaSI, into ultrathin 1D nanowires and quasi‐2D nanoribbons.

Mid-infrared Extinction toward the Galactic Center

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We determine the mid-infrared (MIR, ∼5–22 μ m) extinction toward the Galactic center using MIRI/Medium-Resolution Spectrometer (MRS) integral field unit observations of the central 3″ × 3″ region (near 5 μ m) to 7″ × 7″ region (near 22 μ m).

Resonant Interlayer Coupling in NbSe2‐Graphite Epitaxial Moiré Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory derived calculations, this work reveals strong interlayer coupling and moiré replicas of the graphite π states in molecular‐beam epitaxy grown van der Waals heterostructures of monolayer‐NbSe2/graphite, with implications for its collective phases that form. Abstract Moiré

Ultrafast Terahertz Field Control of the Emergent Magnetic and Electronic Interactions at Oxide Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Intense single‐cycle THz electric‐field pulses enable ultrafast control of emergent electronic and magnetic states at LaNiO3/CaMnO3 interfaces. Combined X‐ray and optical probes reveal sub‐picosecond demagnetization driven by spin‐polarized currents and slower magnetoelastic dynamics linked to spin–lattice coupling.
