The role of river size on fish communities remains underexplored in freshwater ecology. Small streams, despite accounting for 75% of stream length, are more vulnerable to human impacts and often lack legislative protection. Nevertheless, they can serve as refuges and rearing areas for fish, including rare or threatened species.

Landscape and Hydro‐Climatic Drivers of Fish Communities in Floodplain Wetlands
ABSTRACT Floodplain wetlands are characterised by dynamic hydrological regimes and seasonal patterns of wetting and drying. They support distinct communities of fish, many of which are adapted to dynamic and variable conditions. Seasonal hydrological variation and the degree of water permanence influence physicochemical conditions and local habitat ...

Catch Me If You Can: Assessing Sampling Techniques for Threatened Floodplain Wetland Fish
ABSTRACT Floodplain wetlands are declining globally in extent and ecological condition. Changing climates, increasing agricultural activity and invasive species are among the key threats contributing to biodiversity loss, with native fish species increasingly in decline and listed as threatened or endangered. Floodplain wetlands present unique sampling

Multiple environmental DNA (eDNA) methods were compared with each other and with fyke netting for detecting invasive brown bullhead catfish. eDNA sampling combined with catfish‐specific metabarcoding provides sensitive detection and effectively complements traditional netting for biosecurity.

Rayos cósmicos ultra-energéticos y lentes magnéticas
I discuss the effects associated to the defiection of ultra- high energy cosmic rays by galactic magnetic fields. These are of particular interest for the study and localization of extragalactic sources, which is one of the primary objectives of the ...

Impacts of climate change on temperature and dissolved oxygen in an oligotrophic deep lake
Abstract Climate change has significant effects on freshwater ecosystems, including lakes, influencing key water quality indicators such as water temperature and dissolved oxygen concentrations (DO). This study uses a 3D hydrodynamic model (AEM3D) coupled with a simple biogeochemical module (iWQ) alongside observations to examine historical changes in ...

Matéria Escura no Ensino Médio
