DO QUIESCENT AND ACTIVE GALAXIES HAVE DIFFERENT MBH–σ* RELATIONS? [PDF]
To investigate the validity of the assumption that quiescent galaxies and active galaxies follow the same black hole mass (MBH)–stellar velocity dispersion (σ*) relation, as required for the calibration of MBH estimators for broad line active galactic ...

Megamaser Activity in Active Galaxies [PDF]
Megamaser emission provides an unprecedented view of the inner nuclear regions of active galaxies. The characteristics of OH, H2CO, and H2O sources identify different physical environments in the nuclei of megamaser host galaxies. Various classification schemes suggest a dominant starburst nature for the OH and H2CO sources providing the NIR/FIR ...

THE SINS/zC-SINF SURVEY OF z ∼ 2 GALAXY KINEMATICS: EVIDENCE FOR POWERFUL ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEUS-DRIVEN NUCLEAR OUTFLOWS IN MASSIVE STAR-FORMING GALAXIES [PDF]
We report the detection of ubiquitous powerful nuclear outflows in massive (⩾1011 M☉) z ∼ 2 star-forming galaxies (SFGs), which are plausibly driven by an active galactic nucleus (AGN).

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

A HYBRID MODEL FOR THE EVOLUTION OF GALAXIES AND ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI IN THE INFRARED [PDF]
We present a comprehensive investigation of the cosmological evolution of the luminosity function of galaxies and active galactic nuclei (AGNs) in the infrared (IR).

TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

NEBULAR EXCITATION IN z ∼ 2 STAR-FORMING GALAXIES FROM THE SINS AND LUCI SURVEYS: THE INFLUENCE OF SHOCKS AND ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI [PDF]
Based on high-resolution, spatially resolved data of 10 z ∼ 2 star-forming galaxies from the SINS/zC-SINF survey and LUCI data for 12 additional galaxies, we probe the excitation properties of high-z galaxies and the impact of active galactic nuclei ...

Scintillation Response of 0D Cs3Cu2I5 Thin Layers to Light‐ and Heavy‐Ion Irradiation
Driven by increasing interest in uncovering the remarkable photoluminescence quantum yield of Cs3Cu2I5, polycrystalline thin layers are synthesized to investigate its radioluminescence response to energetic ions. Its spectroscopic capability is assessed in a wide range of ion mass and internal excitation processes are explored.

FUELING ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI. I. HOW THE GLOBAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CENTRAL KILOPARSEC OF SEYFERTS DIFFER FROM QUIESCENT GALAXIES [PDF]
In a matched sample of Seyfert and quiescent galaxies we simultaneously probe the stellar and molecular gas kinematics from 1 kpc down to 50 pc with the aim of identifying the dynamical processes dictating black hole accretion rates.
