An electronics‐free smart scleral lens passively monitors dry eye disease‐related tear biomarkers through colorimetric sensing of chloride, pH, and ocular surface temperature. Smartphone‐assisted image analysis enables quantitative interpretation, providing a simple, non‐invasive strategy for ocular health monitoring without integrated electronics ...

The Geography of Success: A Spatial Analysis of Export Intensity in the Italian Wine Industry
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the paradox of how Italy's fragmented, SME‐dominated wine industry achieves global export success. Moving beyond purely firm‐centric explanations, we test whether export intensity is spatially dependent, clustering geographically in regional ecosystems.

HeaTrace: A Parametric Design‐to‐Fabrication Workflow for Thermally Programmable Soft Robots
A programmable thermal actuation workflow enables soft robots to be designed and fabricated with embedded heaters that drive multiple responses. By combining performance‐driven heater design with multimaterial fabrication, the system supports thermally triggered shape change, stiffness tuning, and thermochromic visual response, as demonstrated through ...

Statistics of Spiral Patterns and Comparison of Our Galaxy with Other Galaxies [PDF]
Apparent relative frequencies of various types of spirals are given for 900 spirals with the best revised Hubble classifications. Mean diameters of inner ring structures vary from 2.1 kpc in ordinary spirals (SA) to 4.4 kpc in barred spirals (SB) with a total range of 10 to 1 within each type.

Principal Component‐Based Classification of Blazar Candidates of Uncertain Type in the 4FGL/LAT
ABSTRACT We adopted principal component analysis (PCA), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and support vector machines (SVM), to study classification for a sample of 2708 Fermi blazars: 1142 BL Lac objects (BLLs), 759 flat spectrum radio quasars (FSRQs), and 807 blazar candidates of uncertain type (BCUs).

Form flows function: Learner‐centered game Re‐design in a STEM classroom
Abstract Re‐designing games facilitates interest‐driven learning and immerses learners in systems thinking. However, there are limited studies exploring how the form and function of tabletop games influence learners' design decisions and learning experiences. To address this gap, we conducted a mixed‐methods study in a STEM classroom in western Canada.

Fir Statistics of Paired Galaxies [PDF]
Much progress has been made in understanding the effects of interaction on galaxies (see reviews in this volume by Heckman and Kennicutt). Evidence for enhanced emission from galaxies in pairs first emerged in the radio (Sulentic 1976) and optical (Larson and Tinsley 1978) domains. Results in the FIR lagged behind until the advent of the IRAS satellite.

Statistics of arcs in clusters of galaxies
Samples of gravitational lens events in clusters show many large arcs compared to arclets, relative to what can be obtained by idealized singular lens models. We describe the probability of image magnification for point sources and for simple but more realistic gravitational lensing models that include a finite core size and an ellipticity. In addition,

Schematic depicting a gut‐brain pathway that exacerbates CST injury after ICH. Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis‐Mediated Gut NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation Exacerbates Corticospinal Tract Injury After Intracerebral Hemorrhage. Abstract Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) causes severe neurological deficits largely attributable to corticospinal tract (CST) injury ...
