Properties of galaxies with ring structures [PDF]
Aims. We present a statistical analysis of different characteristics of ringed spiral galaxies with the aim of assessing the effects of rings on disk galaxy properties. Methods. We built a catalog of ringed galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 14 (SDSS-DR14).

The photometric structure of the inner Galaxy [PDF]
The light distribution in the inner few kiloparsecs of the Milky Way is recovered non-parametrically from a dust-corrected near-infrared COBE/DIRBE surface brightness map of the inner Galaxy. The best fits to the photometry are obtained when the Sun is assumed to lie $\sim14\pm4\pc$ below the plane.

On a mechanism that structures galaxies [PDF]
By considering the interaction of a single stellar orbit with a weak cos 2Φ potential it is shown that in the central regions of galaxies with slowly rising rotation curves, the elongations of the orbits will align along any potential valley and oscillate about it. This effect is more pronounced for elongated orbits.

Some Properties of Galaxy Structures [PDF]
Abstract We analysed some properties of galaxies structures based on the PF catalog of galaxy structures (Panko & Flin 2006) and the Tully NBG catalog (Tully 1988). At first, we analyzed the orientation of galaxies in the 247 optically selected rich Abell clusters, having at least 100 members. The distribution of the position angles

THE ALIGNMENT OF GALAXY STRUCTURES
We analyzed the orientation of the sample of ACO galaxy clusters. We examined the alignment in a subsample of 1056 galaxy structures taken from the Panko–Flin (2006) Catalog with known BM morphological types. We were looking for a correlation between the orientation of the cluster and the positions of neighboring clusters.

Helical Structures in Seyfert Galaxies [PDF]
Abstract Seyfert galaxies with Z-shaped emission filaments in the Narrow Line Region (NLR) are considered. We assume that observable Z-shaped structures and the velocity pattern of the NLR may be explained as tri-dimensional helical waves in the ionization cone.

THE STRUCTURE OF 2MASS GALAXY CLUSTERS [PDF]
We use a sample of galaxies from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) Extended Source Catalog to refine a matched filter method of finding galaxy clusters that takes into account each galaxy's position, magnitude, and redshift if available. The matched filter postulates a radial density profile, luminosity function, and line-of-sight velocity ...
