Third Generation Genome Sequencing of the Endobacterium Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii subsp. demodicis Reveals Details of Its Microbe‐Host‐Interaction With the Most Complex Human Commensal, Demodex folliculorum

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
The symbiotic interaction between Demodex folliculorum and Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii subsp. demodicis. Created by the author based on genomic and functional analyses presented in this work. The tripartite interaction between the human host, the mite Demodex folliculorum, and its endosymbiont Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii subsp. demodicis.

Minor epic: Notes toward a different “Anthropoetry”

open access: yesAnthropology and Humanism, Volume 51, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract Anthropologists have often turned to poetry as a means of accessing emotional registers of which conventional academic prose is unable to avail. In doing so, they have tacitly conflated poetry with lyric poetry, today probably the most widely practiced poetic genre, associated in particular with the expression of inner feelings and subjectival

Questions Should Have Answers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Philosophy, Volume 34, Issue 2, Page 423-440, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Making sense of the world often requires one to come up with new ideas, including ideas one had previously been unable to think of. How and when should this be done? I propose and defend a norm of rationality linking wondering, belief, and abilities to conceive: one must not both wonder a question and reject all answers to it that one can ...

Tree Harvest Decisions Modulate the Climate Impact of Rewetting in a Low‐Productive Peatland Forest in Boreal Sweden

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Rewetting drained boreal peatland forests is increasingly promoted as a climate mitigation strategy, yet its effects on carbon (C) and greenhouse gas (GHG) balances remain uncertain. This study quantified CO2 and CH4 fluxes over 2 years before and after rewetting in a low‐productive peatland forest, with and without tree harvest.

The stellar content of a prototype double barred galaxy

Astrophysics and Space Science, 2003
High spatial resolution visible and NIR observations of the bar of NGC 5850, a prototype of double barred spirals, together with visible intermediate and high dispersion spectra along the primary bar, are being used, with the aid of simple stellar population synthesis models, to investigate the mean age and metallicity of the different stellar ...

Higas and stellar content of early-type galaxies

New Astronomy Reviews, 2007
We present Australian telescope compact array observations of the neutral-hydrogen gas in 42 early-type galaxies detected by the HIPASS survey. We confirm the detection of 18 galaxies with Hi mass between a few times 10(9) and similar to 10(10)M(circle dot) and column density below a few times 10(20) cm(-2).

Stellar content and kinematics of starburst galaxies

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1997
We present the Far Ultraviolet (FUV) spectra of four nearby starburst galaxies. We analyse them in terms of the stellar content and the kinematics of the interstellar medium and we discuss the implications of these results for the interpretation of the UV spectra of high redshift galaxies.

Stellar content of the interacting galaxies of the M51 system

Astronomy Letters, 2009
Based on archival Hubble Space Telescope ACS/WFC images, we have performed stellar photometry for more than 0.6 million stars in the interacting galaxies NGC 5194 and NGC 5195 of the M51 system. Stars of various ages have been identified on the constructed Hertzsprung-Russell diagram: blue and red supergiants, AGB stars, and red giants. The distance to

The stellar content of the A496 cD galaxy

Astronomy & Astrophysics, 1985
J, H, and K radial color distributions obtained for the galaxy A496 cD indicate that while the halo becomes bluer at increasing radii in the B-V, it becomes redder in the visual-IR colors. The combined visual-IR data lead to a unique model for both the main sequence and giant stars in which the main sequence is characterized by a radial increase of an ...

Stellar content of the metal-poor galaxy DDO 68

Astronomy Letters, 2014
Based on archival Hubble Space Telescope ACS/WFC images, we have performed stellar photometry for the metal-poor galaxy DDO 68. The apparent distributions of stars of different ages and stellarmetallicity determinations indicate that DDO68 is a systemof two galaxies that have different stellar metallicities (Z = 0.004 and 0.001) and are in the stage of
