On the structure and dynamics of galaxies

The dynamics of spiral galaxies is the main theme towards which the two other themes converge. Normal spiral galaxies are in uniform rotation around their nuclei. The kinematical and dynamical study of NGC 7793 from 21 Fabry-Perot interferograms in H alpha light confirms this. Barred spiral galaxies need more complex dynamical models.

Toll‐like receptor 4 mediates lipopolysaccharide‐induced emesis

Background and Purpose Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces inflammation and sepsis through Toll‐like receptor 4 (TLR4) activation. Common laboratory animals do not exhibit emesis, but administration of LPS in piglets, cats, and dogs induces emesis via peripheral mechanisms.
