The Oxygen Abundance of Nearby Galaxies from Sloan Digital Sky Survey Spectra
We have derived the oxygen abundance for a sample of nearby galaxies in the Data Release 5 of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) which possess at least two independent spectra of one or several HII regions with a detected [OIII]4363 auroral line. Since,

The Rule of Law and Full‐Bodied Promulgation
Promulgation is a fundamental component of most theories about the rule of law yet remains an under‐theorised aspect of the concept. This article makes two contributions concerning the functions of promulgation in the rule of law. First, promulgation can be broken down into formal promulgation, the process of formally publishing rules, and full‐bodied ...

We present the stellar metallicities and multielement abundances (C, Mg, Si, Ca, Ti, Cr, and Fe) of 15 massive (log M / M _⊙ = 10.2–11.2) quiescent galaxies at z = 1–3, derived from ultradeep JWST-SUSPENSE spectra. Compared to quiescent galaxies at z ∼ 0,

We analyze the chemical abundances of planetary nebulae and HII regions in the M81 disk for insight on galactic evolution, and compare it with that of other galaxies, including the Milky Way. We acquired Hectospec/MMT spectra of 39 PNe and 20 HII regions,

The potential of red‐fleshed apples for cider production
Abstract Cider quality is influenced by numerous factors relating to the apples used during production. While extensive research has been done to explore the phenolic content, sensory quality, and storage stability of various apple products, the domain of fermented apple products, such as ciders, remains underrepresented. Red‐fleshed apples (RFAs) have

Investigating the Lower Limit of Metallicity for the Galactic Thin Disk
We explore the metal-poor regime of the Galactic disk on the distribution of stars in the [ α /M]– V _ϕ plane, to identify the most metal-poor thin disk (MPTnD) stars belonging to the low- α sequence.

An Oxygen Abundance Gradient into the Outer Disk of M81
The extended HI disk and tidal tails of M81 present an interesting environment to study the effects of galaxy interaction on star formation and chemical evolution of the outer disk of a large spiral galaxy.

Abundance gradients and galaxy formation
A three-dimensional collisionless code is used to simulate the formation of elliptical galaxies with a time scale for star formation comparable to the collapse time. A one-zone chemical evolution scheme is used to compute the evolution of the abundances of several chemical elements.
