On the Formation of Star-forming Galaxies Having Anomalously Low-metallicity Regions: The Role of Galaxy Interaction and Circumgalactic Medium/Intergalactic Medium Accretion

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Gas accretion from both the circumgalactic medium (CGM)/intergalactic medium (IGM) and interacting companion galaxy can dilute the gas phase metallicity of a galaxy. However, their relative contribution to the chemical evolution of galaxies remains to be

Proteomic analysis of the zone of degeneration at the mitosis–meiosis transition stage in wild‐caught male catshark (Scyliorhinus canicula), correlated with an unusually high‐water temperature in the English Channel

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract In the context of current global change, variations in water temperature are one of the environmental conditions with serious consequences for marine life, including reproductive processes. In the small spotted catshark Scyliorhinus canicula, spermatogenesis occurs in spermatocysts composed of synchronously developing germ cells associated ...

Noble gases and nitrogen in material from asteroid Bennu

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report the elemental and isotopic abundances of all stable noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) in eight particles from asteroid Bennu returned by NASA's OSIRIS‐REx mission. We also report nitrogen abundances and isotopic ratios that were analyzed alongside neon and argon in four additional Bennu particles.

THE COOL GIANT STARS AND CHEMICAL EVOLUTION OF GALAXY

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The fundamental characteristics and abundances of cool giant stars is discussed. The possible evolution of nuclides in process evolution of Galaxy was very shortly described.

Breaks in surface brightness profiles and radial abundance gradients in the discs of spiral galaxies

open access: yes, 2017
We examine the relation between breaks in the surface brightness profiles and radial abundance gradients within the optical radius in the discs of 134 spiral galaxies from the CALIFA survey. The distribution of the radial abundance (in logarithmic scale)

Technical considerations and review of urinary microRNAs as biomarkers for chronic kidney disease in dogs and cats

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) are small, non‐coding RNAs that play a crucial role in gene regulation, making them potential biomarkers for various diseases. In the field of veterinary medicine, there is a growing interest in exploring the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of miRNAs in kidney diseases affecting dogs and cats.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

STELLAR OBJECTS OF EXTRAGALACTIC ORIGIN IN THE GALACTIC HALO

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2007
We identified globular clusters and field stars of extragalactic origin and investigated their chemical, physical, and kinematical properties. This objects as supposed was captured by the Galaxy at different times from debris of the dwarf satellite ...

Dust obscuration studies along quasar sight lines using simulated galaxies

open access: yes, 2003
We use the results of a set of three-dimensional SPH-Treecode simulations which model the formation and early evolution of disk galaxies, including the generation of heavy elements by star formation, to investigate the effects of dust absorption in ...
