On the α/Fe Bimodality of the M31 Disks
An outstanding question is whether the α /Fe bimodality exists in disk galaxies other than in the Milky Way. Here we present a bimodality using our state-of-the-art galactic chemical evolution models that can explain various observations in the Andromeda

The Chemical Evolution of the Draco Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy [PDF]
We present an abundance analysis based on high resolution spectra of 8 stars selected to span the full range in metallicity in the Draco dwarf spheroidal galaxy. We find [Fe/H] for the sample stars ranges from -1.5 to -3.0 dex.

A High-precision Survey of the D/H Ratio in the Nearby Interstellar Medium
We present high signal-to-noise ratio measurements of the H i Ly α absorption line toward 16 Galactic targets that are at distances between approximately 190 and 2200 pc, all beyond the wall of the Local Bubble.

Energetic constraints to chemo-photometric evolution of spiral galaxies [PDF]
The problem of chemo-photometric evolution of late-type galaxies is dealt with relying on prime physical arguments of energetic self-consistency between chemical enhancement of galaxy mass, through nuclear processing inside stars, and luminosity ...

We present an empirical chemical evolution model that explains the distribution of metals in the interstellar medium (ISM) and the circumgalactic medium (CGM) of galaxies based on the U niverse M achine and N eutral U niverse M achine models in the ...

A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Gas-phase metallicity gradients are a crucial element in understanding the chemical evolution of galaxies. We use the FOGGIE simulations to study the metallicity gradients (∇ Z ) of six Milky Way–like galaxies throughout their evolution.

Growing evidence in support of a connection between active galactic nuclei (AGN) activity and the ram pressure stripping (RPS) phenomenon has been found both observationally and theoretically in the past decades.

JINA-NuGrid Galactic Chemical Evolution Pipeline
Galactic chemical evolution is a topic that involves nuclear physics, stellar evolution, galaxy evolution, observation, and cosmology. Continuous communication and feedback between these fields is a key component in improving our understanding of how ...
