Soil community structure across native and exotic forests is shaped by edaphoclimatic conditions and eukaryotic biomarkers

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, EarlyView.
Our results point to the importance of taking management decisions for these forests considering regional conditions as well as forest type. The provided list of soil keystone taxa should be taken into account in future research and soil monitoring, which is essential for sustainable management of land.

Discovery and Multiwavelength Analysis of a New Dissociative Galaxy Cluster Merger: The Champagne Cluster

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report the discovery of a new binary galaxy cluster merger, the Champagne Cluster (RM J130558.9+263048.4), using a detection method that identifies dynamically active clusters in the redMaPPer Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR8 photometric galaxy cluster ...

Accuracy of the Photometric Redshifts of Brightest Cluster Galaxies Identified in the CFHTLS-W1

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research in Natural and Applied Sciences
We determine the accuracy of photometric redshifts for the brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) identified in the W1 field of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Legacy Survey (CFHTLS).

‘FROM GHETTO TO HABITUS FACTORY’ ROMA CAMPS IN ITALY: An Empirical Extension of Loïc Wacquant's Theorization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract In this article we apply Wacquant's conceptualization of the ghetto to an analysis of interviews conducted with Roma people living in the state‐enforced camps of Turin, Italy. We illustrate how the elements characterizing a ghetto according to Wacquant (i.e.

The Morphological Classification of Galaxy Clusters: Algorithms for Applying the Numerical Criteria

open access: yesUniverse
We summarize the experience of studying 2D features in the galaxy distribution of galaxy cluster fields. For the detailed study of the inner structure of galaxy clusters, algorithms were developed for detecting various types of regular substructures ...

The evolution of galaxy clustering [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1997
This paper investigates whether nonlinear gravitational instability can account for the clustering of galaxies on large and small scales, and for the evolution of clustering with epoch. No CDM-like spectrum is consistent with the shape of the observed nonlinear spectrum. Unbiased low-density models greatly overpredict the small-scale correlations; high-

Spider Webs, Soil or Leaf Swabs to Detect Environmental DNA From Terrestrial Vertebrates: What Is the Best Substrate?

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As human activities drive biodiversity decline, effective biomonitoring is more crucial than ever to track species distribution changes and inform conservation and restoration actions. Environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding has emerged as a promising tool for the simultaneous detection of multiple taxa. However, while substrates play a crucial

Detection Rate of Galaxy Cluster-lensed Stellar Binary Black Hole Mergers by the Third-generation Gravitational-wave Detectors

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Gravitational waves (GWs) from stellar binary black hole (sBBH) mergers can be strongly gravitational lensed by intervening galaxies/galaxy clusters. Only a few works have investigated cluster-lensed sBBH mergers by adopting oversimplified models, while ...
