Synergistic Microcrack Engineering and Auxetic Metamaterials for Enhanced Sensitivity in Stretchable Strain Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A highly sensitive crack‐based piezoresistive strain sensor is developed using a biaxially pre‐stretched multi‐walled carbon nanotubes/Ecoflex composite and integrated with auxetic metamaterials. Biaxial pre‐stretching improves the sensitivity by 56% compared to the uniaxially pre‐stretched strain sensor.

Testing Galaxy Formation Models with the Stellar Mass–Halo Mass Relations for Star-forming and Quiescent Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The tight relationship between the stellar mass and halo mass of galaxies is one of the most fundamental scaling relations in galaxy formation and evolution. It has become a critical constraint for galaxy formation models.

The Padova-Millennium Galaxy and Group Catalogue (PM2GC): the group-finding method and the PM2GC catalogues of group, binary and single field galaxies

open access: yes, 2011
We present the construction and describe the properties of the Padova-Millennium Galaxy and Group Catalogue (PM2GC), a galaxy catalogue representative of the general field population in the local Universe.

A ROSAT survey of Hickson's compact galaxy groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We report the results of an almost complete survey of the X-ray properties of Hickson's compact galaxy groups with the ROSAT PSPC. Diffuse X-ray emission is detected from 22 groups.

Developmental Hypoxia Enhances Kidney Organoid Complexity and Maturity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The current bottleneck in metanephric mesenchyme (MM)‐derived nephron organoid development is the absence of a connected network of collecting ducts (CD) derived from the ureteric bud (UB). To address this limitation, this study proposes a hypoxia‐based differentiation method that mimics the natural renal developmental environment, enabling the ...

The Importance of Gas Starvation in Driving Satellite Quenching in Galaxy Groups at z ~ 0.8

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present results from a Keck/DEIMOS survey to study satellite quenching in group environments at z  ~ 0.8 within the Extended Groth Strip (EGS). We target 11 groups in the EGS with extended X-ray emission. We obtain high-quality spectroscopic redshifts

Probing Hot Gas in Galaxy Groups through the Sunyaev-Zeldovich Effect

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the potential of exploiting the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect (SZE) to study the properties of hot gas in galaxy groups. It is shown that, with upcoming SZE surveys, one can stack SZE maps around galaxy groups of similar halo masses selected ...

X-ray bright groups and their galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Combining X-ray data from the ROSAT PSPC and optical data drawn from the literature, we examine in detail the relationship between the X-ray and optical properties of X-ray bright galaxy groups. We find a relationship between optical luminosity and X-ray

The TET3/GATA6 Axis Drives Lipid Metabolism and Therapeutic Vulnerabilities in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The DNA demethylase TET3 drives lipid metabolic reprogramming in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma via a non‐catalytic mechanism. TET3 recruits histone deacetylases to repress GATA6, sustaining lipogenic enzyme expression and ferroptosis resistance.
