SDSS-IV MaNGA: Spatial Evolution of Gas-phase Metallicity Changes Induced by Galaxy Interactions
Gas-phase metallicity in interacting and merging galaxies offers key insights into their star formation processes and evolutionary histories. This study investigates the spatial evolution of gas-phase metallicity (i.e., oxygen abundance, 12 + log(O/H ...

Isolated Galaxies versus Interacting Pairs with MaNGA
We present preliminary results of the spectral analysis on the radial distributions of the star formation history in both a galaxy merger and a spiral isolated galaxy observed with MaNGA.

Ring or No Ring—Revisiting the Multiphase Nuclear Environment in M31
Nuclear rings, prevalent in barred galaxies, are essential to understanding gas transport toward galactic nuclei. However, the peculiar nuclear ring in our neighboring galaxy M31 remains poorly understood.

Interacting Galaxies with MOND
We compare N-body simulations performed in MOND with analogs in Newtonian gravity with dark matter (DM). We have developed a code which solves the Poisson equation in both gravity models. It is a grid solver using adaptive mesh refinement techniques, allowing us to study isolated galaxies as well as interacting galaxies.

Numerical simulations of interacting disk galaxies [PDF]
Galaxy-galaxy interactions have long attracted many extragalactic astronomers in various aspects. A number of computer simulations performed in the 1970s have successfully reproduced the peculiar morphologies observed in interacting disk galaxies and ...

Galaxy Interactions, Star Formation History, and Bulgeless Galaxies [PDF]
AbstractHierarchical ΛCDM models provide a successful paradigm for the growth of dark matter on large scales, but they face important challenges in predicting how the baryonic components of galaxies evolve. I present constraints on two aspects of this evolution: (1) The interaction history of galaxies over the last 7 Gyr and the impact of interactions ...
