How Do the Functional Resemblance Structure and Its Component‐Dependence Change Among the Successional Stages in Degraded Karst Forests?

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study was conducted in an extremely heterogeneous karst forest ecosystem. We found asynchronous changes in taxonomic and functional dissimilarities along the succession pathway and the functional redundancy dominated the functional resemblance structure.

The Velocity Map Asymmetry of Ionized Gas in MaNGA. II. Correlation between Velocity Map Morphology, Star Formation, and Metallicity in Regular Disk Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The morphology of ionized gas velocity maps provides a direct probe of the internal gas kinematics of galaxies. Using integral field spectroscopy from SDSS-IV MaNGA, we analyze a sample of 528 low-inclination, regular disk galaxies to investigate the ...

OrchardQuant‐3D: combining drone and LiDAR to perform scalable 3D phenotyping for characterising key canopy and floral traits in fruit orchards

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, Page 4910-4929, November 2025.
Summary Orchard fruits such as pear and apple are important for ensuring global food security and agricultural economy as they not only provide essential nutrients, but also support biodiversity and ecosystem services. Breeders, growers and plant researchers constantly study desirable tree morphological features and floral characteristics to ensure ...

Jormungandr: A Large Substructure Circling the Milky Way Identified from Gaia DR3 Data

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report the discovery of a large substructure in the Milky Way passing through the solar neighborhood, detected in actions $\left({J}_{\phi },{J}_{{\rm{R}}}\right)$ calculated from Gaia DR3 data.

Distribution and Kinematics of Classical Cepheids in the Galactic Outer Ring

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2015
The existence of an outer ring in the Galaxy can explain the kinematics of OB associations in the Perseus and Sagittarius stellar-gas complexes. Moreover, it can also explain the orientation of the Carina arm with respect to the major axis of the bar. We

NUCLEAR RINGS IN GALAXIES—A KINEMATIC PERSPECTIVE [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2011
We combine DensePak integral field unit and TAURUS Fabry-Perot observations of 13 nuclear rings to show an interconnection between the kinematic properties of the rings and their resonant origin. The nuclear rings have regular and symmetric kinematics, and lack strong non-circular motions.

A review of multiscale numerical modeling of rock mechanics and rock engineering

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 382-405, September 2025.
Multiscale numerical methods of rock mechanics and rock engineering are reviewed, and the review results show that more attention should be paid to the development of an advanced constitutive model in addition to numerical techniques themselves. Abstract Rock is geometrically and mechanically multiscale in nature, and the traditional phenomenological ...

Resolved Stellar and Nebular Kinematics of a Star-forming Galaxy at z ∼ 2

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The kinematics of star-forming galaxy populations at high redshifts are integral to our understanding of disk properties, merger rates, and other defining characteristics.

Influence of Magnetic Fields on the Gas Rotation in the Galaxy NGC 6946

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Magnetic fields can play an important role in the energy balance and formation of gas structures in galaxies. However, their dynamical effect on the rotation curve of galaxies is immensely unexplored.
