On the properties of galaxies in groups

A recently compiled catalog of groups of galaxies in the southern hemisphere is used to examine properties of galaxies in loose groups. Several statistical tests are applied to the data to evaluate the possible role of physical processes, which could influence the evolution of the individual members and explain the present-day structure of the galaxies.

Roe deer is a species that hides their neonates as an anti‐predator strategy. This may prove efficient against mammalian predators, such as the red fox; however, it might be an ecological trap as large numbers of fawns are killed by tractors with harvesters each year during grass harvest.
