Environmental effects on galaxy properties

Astrophysics and Space Science, 2003
This is a study concerning the investigation of galaxy formation and evolution in small-scale structures and the influence of the environment on the properties of galaxies. The environment plays a key role in the evolution of galaxies since it governs the type of encounters.

Clustering properties of galaxies with different galaxy morphologies

Astroparticle Physics, 2008
Abstract From the volume-limited main galaxy sample of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 6 (SDSS DR6), we construct an early-type sample and a late-type sample, and perform comparative studies of clustering properties between them. It is found that the distribution of late-type galaxies is more filamentary.

Properties of low Surface Brightness Galaxies

Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1996
We have been working on multiband surface photometry, spectrophotometry and Hi synthesis data for 20 Low Surface Brightness (LSB) galaxies. LSB galaxies are well described by disks with an average central surface brightness of ∼ 23.4B-mag arcsec–2. They have scale lengths typical for high surface brightness (HSB) galaxies, though a large range of sizes
