Biodiversity Genomics Research Practices Require Harmonising to Meet Stakeholder Needs in Conservation

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biodiversity resilience relies on genetic diversity, which sustains the evolutionary potential of organisms in dynamic ecosystems. Genomics is a powerful tool for accurately estimating genetic diversity across genomes of species and populations.

A Timeline of the M81 Group: Properties of the Extended Structures of M82 and NGC 3077

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Mergers of and interactions between galaxies imprint a wide diversity of morphological, dynamical, and chemical characteristics in stellar halos and tidal streams.

Unravelling Hidden Trophic Interactions Among Sea Urchin Juveniles and Macroinvertebrates by DNA Amplification

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rocky reefs may shift between two distinct stable states: productive algal forests, characterised by high abundance and biodiversity of macrofauna, and impoverished barrens, dominated by overgrazing sea urchins. Barren states may persist despite the recovery of adult sea urchin predators, suggesting additional stabilising mechanisms.

Cosmological Simulations of Stellar Halos with Gaia Sausage–Enceladus Analogs: Two Sausages, One Bun?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Observations of the Milky Way’s stellar halo find that it is predominantly comprised of a radially biased population of stars, dubbed the Gaia Sausage–Enceladus, or GSE.

Accuracy and precision of a sphero‐cylindrical over‐refraction app for smartphones

open access: yesOphthalmic and Physiological Optics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the accuracy and precision of a web‐based smartphone app designed to measure sphero‐cylindrical over‐refraction. Methods A total of 307 healthy young subjects (22.5 ± 3.4 years) underwent clinical subjective refraction. In addition to each subject's refractive correction, spherical and cylindrical errors from −1.50 to 0.00 ...

Is Less More? Field Evidence on the Impact of Anti‐Bribery Policies on Employee Knowledge and Corrupt Behavior

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Companies increasingly adopt internal norms to enhance compliance with legal rules. However, the rapid growth in volume and complexity of such internal rules may obstruct employee knowledge and understanding of such internal rules, and therefore also their compliance.

Streams, Shells, and Substructures in the Accretion-built Stellar Halo of NGC 300

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We present deep optical observations of the stellar halo of NGC 300, an LMC-mass galaxy, acquired with the DEEP subcomponent of the DECam Local Volume Exploration survey using the 4 m Blanco Telescope.
