We studied oviposition site selection in a leaf‐mining moth (Stigmella sorbi) on rowan trees (Sorbus aucuparia) in northwestern Russia, assessing larval performance across different shoot types, leaf positions, and leaflets. Larval survival was highest on long vegetative shoots, yet females showed no preference for these optimal sites.

Myrtaceae flowering strategies in a gallery forest, Chapada Diamantina, Brazil
Abstract Tropical plants exhibit virtually all known phenological responses, which can range from near-continuous to brief events, and from complete synchrony to complete asynchrony. This wide variety of phenological patterns is related to high tropical biodiversity and complex interactions with diverse abiotic and biotic factors, such as plant ...

Aphelonyx cerricola and the different stages that make this gall colonizable by ants. ABSTRACT Wasps of the family Cynipidae are known to induce galls of a species‐specific morphology, which during senescence provide a refuge for secondary insect fauna, especially ants.

Species turnover across different life stages from seedlings to canopy trees in swamp forests of Central Brazil [PDF]
Processes driving the assembly of swamp forest communities have been poorly explored. We analyzed natural regeneration and adult tree communities data of a swamp gallery forest in Central Brazil to discuss the role of ecological filters in shaping plant ...

Acalolepta aesthetica is a non‐native cerambycid established on the Island of Hawaiʻi. We show its preferred hosts are woody species that are highly valued for agricultural, horticultural and cultural uses. We used a resource selection function to estimate host preferences and found that kukui (Aleurites moluccanus), the state tree, was preferred ...
