Molecular Mobility of N‐Acetylgalactosamine‐Modified Cyclodextrins on a Polyrotaxane for Highly Efficient Liver Targeting of Antibody Chimeras and Genome‐Editing Ribonucleoproteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Monovalent N‐acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc)‐modified polyrotaxane enables efficient liver targeting by utilizing ligand mobility. The sliding and rotating cyclic components i.e., cyclodextrin in the polyrotaxane dynamically cluster GalNAc moieties, thereby mimicking trivalent interactions with asialoglycoprotein receptors.

Rejection of Cardiac Xenografts Transplanted from α1,3-Galactosyltransferase Gene-Knockout (GalT-KO) Pigs to Baboons [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Transplantation, 2008
The use of alpha1,3-galactosyltransferase gene-knockout (GalT-KO) swine donors in discordant xenotransplantation has extended the survival of cardiac xenografts in baboons following transplantation. Eight baboons received heterotopic cardiac xenografts from GalT-KO swine and were treated with a chronic immunosuppressive regimen. The pathologic features

Targeted β‐Glucan‐Veiled Oral Apremilast Nanotherapy Modulates Key Dysbiosis‐Associated Gut Microbiota and Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis‐Associated Anxiety, Depression, and Neuropsychiatric Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces β‐glucan‐shielded apremilast laden nanomicelles that withstand gastrointestinal degradation, selectively accumulate in inflamed colon tissue, and modulate the microbiota–gut–brain axis. The formulation restores barrier integrity, reduces systemic and neuroinflammation, and improves anxiety‐ and depression‐like behaviors in colitis

Biochemical and computational analyses of two phenotypically related GALT mutations (S222N and S135L) that lead to atypical galactosemia

open access: yesData in Brief, 2015
Galactosemia is a metabolic disorder caused by mutations in the GALT gene [1,2]. We encountered a patient heterozygous for a known pathogenic H132Q mutation and a novel S222N variant of unknown significance [3].

S-Assimilation Influences in Carrageenan Biosynthesis Genes during Ethylene-Induced Carposporogenesis in Red Seaweed Grateloupia imbricata

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2022
The synthesis of cell-wall sulfated galactans proceeds through UDP galactose, a major nucleotide sugar in red seaweed, whilst sulfate is transported through S-transporters into algae.

ACTIVATION MECHANISMS OF GUT-ASSOCIATED LYMPHOID TISSUE UNDER CHRONIC SOCIAL STRESS CONDITIONS

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2015
Stress-induced immune disregulation is a risk factor of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, but, so far, the mechanisms for this effect are not fully known. Expression levels of specific mRNAs were assessed in gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) from

The effect of immunoregulatory bacteria on the transcriptional activity of Foxp3 and RORyt genes in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue with Salmonella-induced inflammation in the presence of vancomycin and Ваcteroides fragilis

open access: yesIranian Journal of Microbiology, 2020
Background and Objectives: Intestinal microbiota is involved in the development and maintenance of immune homeostasis. This study was conducted to investigate the levels of key immunoregulatory bacteria in the intestinal wall-associated microflora and ...

Heat Stress and Gut Microbiome Dynamics in Poultry: Interplay, Consequences, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

Gut Health in Ostriches (Struthio camelus): Insights Into Intestinal Structure, Functions, Microbiome, and Improvement Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Our paper systematically reviews the intestinal structure, function, and microbiota of ostriches, along with strategies for improving their gut health. We analyze how these factors collectively influence intestinal homeostasis and ostrich welfare, emphasizing probiotics as a promising intervention to enhance gut health, boost population well‐being, and
