Some studies on a solid state sulfur probe for coal gasification systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Measurements on the solid electrolyte cell (Ar + H(2) + H(2)S/CaS + CaF(2) + (Pt)//CaF(2)//(Pt) + CaF(2) + CaS/H(2) + H(2)+Ar) show that the emf of the cell is directly related to the difference in sulfur potentials established at the Ar + H(2) + H(2)S ...

Stretchable Energy Storage with Eutectic Gallium Indium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A highly stretchable liquid metal‐based electrode is developed via a one‐step process, retaining conductivity and capacitance after mechanical deformation up to 900% strain. The stretchable all‐solid‐state device provides a areal energy density of 43 µWh cm⁻2 after 150% strain.

Heterogeneity of the Dominant Causes of Performance Loss in End‐of‐Life Cathodes and Their Consequences for Direct Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Direct recyling of Li‐ion battery materials promises a low‐cost path towards a secure domestic supply of critical materials for batteries. Using cathode material from an end‐of‐life commercial Li‐ion cell, this work identifies the primary degradation mechanisms that diminish the performance of directly reused cathode materials and includes a discussion
