Corrosion of Galvanized Steel in Soils
The results of measurements of the corrosion of galvanized steel and of bare steel and zinc as reference materials after exposure to different soil conditions for a maximum of 13 years are reported. The magnitude and progress of corrosion of galvanized steel as determined by weight loss and pitting is interpreted in terms of the environmental ...

Galvanic Corrosion: Possible Galvanic Effects in the Corrosion of Metals in Milk
A study is first made of the galvanic effects which occur when dissimilar metals are coupled together in hot aerated pasteurized milk. The following metals and alloys, used commercially in the construction of milk pasteurizing equipment, are included: Nickel, copper, aluminum, chromium‐nickel, and chromium‐nickel‐iron.

Distribution of Galvanic Corrosion
The distribution of the galvanic corrosion of a nickel‐to‐steel couple in open, slowly moving, tap water was estimated from measurements of potential differences in the water around the couple. The distribution was confirmed later by thickness measurements. The two methods were in excellent agreement.

Galvanic Corrosiveness of Soil Waters
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1945Results are presented of a study of the relation of pH of soil waters to galvanic action between couples of lead, copper, iron, and carbon. Galvanic-cell tests were made using as electrolytes actual soil waters or soil extracts from 31 locations at which trouble had been experienced.

Galvanic Corrosion Risk of Using Galvanized A325 Bolts in Corrosion-Resistant Steel Bridges
Journal of Bridge Engineering, 2019This experimental study was the first to evaluate the galvanic corrosion risk of using galvanized ASTM A325 Type I bolts with ASTM A1010 steel girders in the construction of A1010 steel bridges. The emerging construction of A1010 steel bridges is intended to extend the service life of bridges and reduce the need for maintenance under atmospheric ...
