A preclinical setup for spatially fractionated radiation therapy with electrons

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Background Spatially fractionated radiation therapy (SFRT) has therapeutic potential as a priming therapy which boosts tumor control. However, the optimal delivery and spatial fractionation parameters have not been deciphered and the mechanisms at play are not yet fully understood.

Associations Between Cognitive Functions and Subsequent Mood Disorder Prognosis in Low‐Risk, High‐Risk and Affected Monozygotic Twins: A Seven‐Year Follow‐Up Study

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 153, Issue 5, Page 432-448, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Aberrant cognition is common among individuals at familial risk for mood disorders (MD) and those already affected. However, long‐term prospective studies are needed to determine whether specific cognitive features predict illness onset and relapse; and whether cognitive impairments reflect neurodevelopmental traits or ...

Effects of ethanol on non‐invasively recorded cerebellar, cerebral, and postural responses to axial perturbation: A case study

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, May 2026.
Abstract We report for the first time non‐invasively recorded ethanol (EtOH) induced changes in the spontaneous and evoked activity of the human cerebellum. We recorded electroencephalography (EEG), electro‐cerebellography (ECeG), lower limb electro‐myography (EMG), and posturography in a 64 year old adult male before and after oral ingestion of EtOH ...
