Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Genomic characterization of the T-cell receptor loci in Ambystoma mexicanum

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundAmphibians are valuable models for comparative immunology. In the caudate Ambystoma mexicanum, the architecture of immunoglobulin loci resembles that of the anuran Xenopus tropicalis, although some antibody gene features are absent.

Human gamma delta T regulatory cells in cancer: fact or fiction?

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2014
While gamma delta T cell (γδTc) anticancer immunotherapies are being developed, recent reports suggest a regulatory role for γδTc tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL).

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

Pan-cancer γδ TCR analysis uncovers clonotype diversity and prognostic potential

open access: yesCell Reports Medicine
Summary: Gamma-delta T cells (γδ T cells) play a crucial role in both innate and adaptive immunity within tumors, yet their presence and prognostic value in cancer remain underexplored. This study presents a large-scale analysis of γδ T cell receptor (γδ

Gamma delta T-lymphocytes in hepatitis C and chronic liver disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2014
Discovered thirty years ago, gamma delta (γδ) T-lymphocytes remain an intriguing and enigmatic T-cell subset. Although in humans they comprise a small fraction of the total circulating T-lymphocyte pool, they represent an important T-cell subset in ...

Primary cutaneous aggressive epidermotropic cytotoxic T-cell lymphomas: reappraisal of a provisional entity in the 2016 WHO classification of cutaneous lymphomas. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Primary cutaneous CD8-positive aggressive epidermotropic T-cell lymphoma is a rare and poorly characterized variant of cutaneous lymphoma still considered a provisional entity in the latest 2016 World Health Organization Classification of Cutaneous ...

Microstructure Design of Steel‐Spinel Composites via Spark Plasma Sintering Process

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study illustrates how spark plasma sintering at reduced oxygen partial pressure enables controlled formation of steel‐spinel composites through tailored redox reactions and cation exchange. Comparison of the MgO–Fe2O3, steel–(MgO+Cr2O3), and steel–(MgO+Fe2O3) systems shows how oxygen activity and interface chemistry govern spinel formation, phase ...

Development and Selection of the Human Vγ9Vδ2+ T-Cell Repertoire

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Vγ9Vδ2+ lymphocytes are among the first T-cells to develop in the human fetus and are the predominant peripheral blood γδ T-cell population in most adults.
