Clustering of gamma-ray bursts through kernel principal component analysis [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2017
We consider the problem related to clustering of gamma-ray bursts (from "BATSE" catalogue) through kernel principal component analysis in which our proposed kernel outperforms results of other competent kernels in terms of clustering accuracy and we obtain three physically interpretable groups of gamma-ray bursts.

Late combination shows that MEG adds to MRI in classifying MCI versus controls

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2022
Early detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is essential for developing effective treatments. Neuroimaging techniques like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) have the potential to detect brain changes before symptoms emerge.

A survey of kernel and spectral methods for clustering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Clustering algorithms are a useful tool to explore data structures and have been employed in many disciplines. The focus of this paper is the partitioning clustering problem with a special interest in two recent approaches: kernel and spectral methods ...

Weak and Strong Gamma Distributed Delays in a Patch-Enabled SLBP Computer-Virus Model

open access: yesMathematics
A patch-enabled delayed SLBP computer-virus model is extended by replacing the fixed delay in the breaking-out class with a distributed memory. Two gamma kernels are considered: the weak (single-stage) kernel, which encodes an exponentially fading memory,

Natural Frequencies of Levodopa‐Induced Dyskinesia in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Abnormal involuntary movements, known as dyskinesias, are common complications of levodopa treatment in patients with Parkinson's disease and can significantly impair quality of life. The underlying pathophysiology remains unclear, and current therapeutic options are limited.

CSF Cytokine Network Organization Predicts Progression Independent of Relapse and MRI Activity in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Progression independent of relapse activity is a major determinant of long‐term disability in multiple sclerosis, but its immunopathologic basis remains incompletely understood. We investigated whether relapse‐independent progression in radiologically stable relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis is associated with distinct ...

Nondegeneracy of positive solutions to nonlinear Hardy–Sobolev equations

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2017
In this note, we prove that the kernel of the linearized equation around a positive energy solution in ℝn${\mathbb{R}^{n}}$, n≥3${n\geq 3}$, to the problem -Δ⁢W-γ⁢|x|-2⁢V=|x|-s⁢W2⋆⁢(s)-1$-\Delta W-\gamma|x|^{-2}V=|x|^{-s}W^{2^{\star}(s)-1}$ is one ...

dynoGP: Deep Gaussian Processes for Dynamic System Identification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel class of deep models for system identification, dynamical deep Gaussian processes, which combine the strengths of data‐driven methods, such as those based on neural network architectures, with the ability to output a probability distribution for uncertainty representation.
