SBUspect, a Software for Gamma Radiation Spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2014
Gamma ray spectroscopy has extensive applications in many problems of physics and in varieties of radiation applications, such as material analysis. The obtained spectrum from a Gamma emitting source, which is usually detected by Germanium or inorganic ...

Radioisotopic purity and imaging properties of cyclotron-produced 99mTc using direct 100Mo(p,2n) reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Evaluation of the radioisotopic purity of technetium-99m (99mTc) produced in GBq amounts by proton bombardment of enriched molibdenum-100 (100Mo) metallic targets at low proton energies (i.e. within 15\u201320 MeV) is conducted.

Insights into Gamma-Ray Spectrometry of Building Stones in the North Temple of the Great Ball Court, Archaeological Zone of Chichen Itza, Mexico

open access: yesBuildings
Non-destructive tests are especially useful for the assessment of building stones and their deterioration in built cultural heritage. Gamma-ray spectrometry is a non-destructive test that has not been applied extensively in these types of constructions ...

Pile-up correction for coincidence counting using a CAEN 1724 digitizer

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences, 2019
In conventional gamma-ray spectrometry, the probability of pile-up effects is considered to be proportional to the dead-time, and is usually neglected for low dead-times (below 4-5%).

Gamma-ray line measurements from supernova explosions

open access: yes, 2017
Gamma ray lines are expected to be emitted as part of the afterglow of supernova explosions, because radioactive decay of freshly synthesised nuclei occurs.

New shield for gamma-ray spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Gamma-ray shield that can be evacuated, refilled with a clean gas, and pressurized for exclusion of airborne radioactive contaminants effectively lowers background noise.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
