Flexible Chromatic VIS‐IR Meta‐Textile for Multi‐Scenario Stealth

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 2, March 2026.
A flexible chromatic meta‐textile was developed for multi‐spectral stealth across VIS‐IR bands, combining low color difference, ultralow infrared emissivity, and passive radiative cooling. The textile exhibits excellent VIS wide‐angle compatibility, optical durability, and mechanical flexibility, offering a promising solution for advanced stealth ...

Regulation of charge distribution for highly efficient colloidal quantum‐well light‐emitting diodes with deep‐red emissions

open access: yesInfoMat, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
By using efficient core/shell colloidal quantum‐wells (CQWs) and an effective triple hole transport layer architecture, CQW light‐emitting diodes (CQW‐LEDs) with long‐wavelength emissions exhibit a record external quantum efficiency of 17.45%, a record luminance of 9335 cd m−2, extremely low efficiency roll‐off, ultra‐saturated emissions, and excellent

Highly Durable and Uniform Structural Coloration via Spray‐Coated Organic Mie Resonators Randomly Distributed in Three Dimensions

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 5, 6 March 2026.
This study demonstrates uniform, durable non‐iridescent structural coloration using polystyrene nanoparticles randomly embedded in a thick sodium silicate with absorptive additives. By suppressing the effects of the structure factor and multiple scattering, this approach achieves uniform coloration from the backscattering.

(Re)considering Discourses of Risk and Responsibility Through the Lens of Healthism: Interpreting the International Response to a Global Health Strategy for Noncommunicable Diseases

open access: yesSociology of Health &Illness, Volume 48, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Public health crises such as the global epidemic of so‐called ‘lifestyle diseases’ are often framed as the failure of individuals to make the right health‐related choices or to take responsibility for managing their bodies in ways that promote the health of present and future selves. Through his early writings on healthism, Robert Crawford was

Sociology and The Complexity of What Is Missing

open access: yesThe British Journal of Sociology, Volume 77, Issue 2, Page 332-344, March 2026.
ABSTRACT What is ‘missed’ by sociological literature underpinned by assumptions of presence that a missing approach can rectify? I appropriate a metaphysics of presence and an alternative focus on what is missing as ontological foci to revisit complexity studies in sociology.

The Academic Threat Appraisal Ratio Scale (ATARS): Insights into attainment, academic progression, and retention in higher education

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 90-107, March 2026.
Abstract Background Previous studies examining threat appraisal and the influence of stress on human performance conclude that a challenge state leads to better performance than a threat state. Despite its potential, threat appraisal, particularly using self‐report measures, has been the subject of limited investigation in applied higher educational ...
