Gaps in the Glycation Gap Hypothesis [PDF]
Patients with diabetes mellitus are at risk for developing severe debilitating complications, including retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, myocardial infarction, and stroke. Randomized trials have documented that lowering hemoglobin A1c (Hb A1c)4 concentrations significantly reduces the onset and rate of progression of microvascular complications (1,

Is There a Gap in the Gap? Regional Differences in the Gender Pay Gap [PDF]
AbstractIn this paper, we investigate regional differences in the gender pay gap both theoretically and empirically. Within a spatial model of monopsonistic competition, we show that more densely populated labour markets are more competitive and constrain employers’ ability to discriminate against women.

The central spindle regulates cleavage furrow formation and cytokinesis and is composed of antiparallel microtubules bundled by microtubule-associated proteins and kinesin motors. One key protein in the central spindle is a Rho family GTPase-activating protein, CYK-4/MgcRacGAP, whose target is the subject of two new studies that arrive at divergent ...

Normal Anion Gap: A Knowledge Gap
We studied with great interest the article titled "Acute diarrhea and severe dehydration in children: Does non-anion gap component of severe metabolic acidemia need more attention?" by Takia L et al. and would express our views about the same. Normal anion gap metabolic acidosis (NAGMA) is a common entity following stool loss of bicarbonate during an ...
