Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Williamson-hall analysis and absorption spectrum fitting in the estimation of crystallite size and band gap energy of CdZnS thin films

open access: yesRecent Advances in Natural Sciences
CdZnS ternary thin film was successfully prepared from cadmium sulphide (CdS)/zinc sulphide (ZnS) bilayer and its subsequent post thermal annealing via chemical bath technique.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Influence of Inter-row Gap Value on Turbine Losses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 2001
This paper presents the results of a numerical investigation of the gap influence on the turbine efficiency. The rotor-stator interaction in a (1/2)-stage turbine is simulated by solving the quasi-three-dimensional unsteady Euler/Navier-Stokes equations ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Multi-Temporal Canopy Gaps Assessment Using Airborne Laser Scanning Data: The Case of the Protected Forests in the Carpathian Montane Ecosystem in Poland

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Canopy gaps are important footprints in understanding the forests’ disturbance regime and regeneration process, yet there is a need to employ multiple metrics along the gradient of time for a deeper understanding of the dynamics.

School Size, Achievement, and Achievement Gaps

open access: yesEducation Policy Analysis Archives, 2004
In order to examine the relationship between school size and achievement, a study was conducted using longitudinal achievement data from North Carolina for three separate cohorts of public school students (one elementary, one middle and one high school).
