Compound‐Specific Stable Isotope Analysis Improves the Association Between Dairy Fatty Acid Biomarkers and Dairy Intake: A Secondary Analysis

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Increasing evidence suggests that dairy consumption may decrease the risk of chronic diseases. However, this association remains unclear due to methodological limitations. As a part of a secondary analysis, we used compound‐specific stable isotope analysis to increase the accuracy of the dairy FA biomarkers (15:0, 17:0), considering that each ...

Effects of preservatives and poisons on the elemental and isotopic composition of freshwater particulate organic matter

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Sediment traps, often used in tandem with preservatives or poisons, are widely used for the collection of particulate organic matter (POM), providing insight into the source to sink mechanisms that shape major biogeochemical cycles and sedimentary carbon sequestration.

Effect of population reinforcement method, site, and plant characteristics on early establishment of the rare endemic plant species Minuartia smejkalii

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Many habitat‐specialist plant species have been endangered by fragmentation or destruction of their habitats. Minuartia smejkalii is a serpentinophyte endemic to the Czech Republic. It is highly threatened by recent habitat destruction and fragmentation, calling for effective conservation measures.
