Pseudolaric Acid B Combats Drug‐Resistant Candida albicans Infection via Dual‐Action Mechanisms of Direct Antifungals and Vaginal Microbiota Restoration

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
We propose a novel therapeutic approach against fungal infection: Pseudolaric acid B directly eradicates C. albicans via Erg11 inhibition and uniquely, restores vaginal microecological homeostasis by promoting probiotic lactobacilli, addressing both the pathogen and the dysbiotic environment.

Endometrial microbiota‐targeted therapies for chronic endometritis‐associated recurrent implantation failure and their impact on IVF outcomes: A systematic review and methodological quality assessment

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 3, Page 418-435, March 2026.
Microbiota‐targeted interventions may improve implantation and pregnancy outcomes in women with chronic endometritis‐associated recurrent implantation failure. However, current evidence is constrained by heterogeneous study designs, nonstandardized diagnostic criteria, small cohort sizes, and limited adjustment for confounding factors.

A Giant Cervical Decidual Polyp in Pregnancy Managed With Lactoferrin, Probiotics, and Ligation: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Giant cervical decidual polyps during pregnancy increase the risk of miscarriage and preterm delivery; however, optimal management has not yet been established. We report the case of a pregnant woman who presented at 11 weeks of gestation with a bleeding 4‐cm cervical polyp.

Gardnerella spp. pre-conditioned vs competitive multi-species biofilm growth and the impact on the tridimensional biofilm structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is one of the most common bacterial vaginal disorders among women of reproductive age. The hallmark of BV is the presence of a multi-species biofilm, formed primarily by Gardnerella spp., in a minor part by Atopobium ...

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 172, Issue 1, Page 25-50, January 2026.
Abstract Mid‐trimester pregnancy loss (MTL), defined as a pregnancy loss occurring between 14 + 0 and 21 + 6 weeks of gestation, causes significant physical and emotional distress to women and presents clinical challenges to healthcare professionals. It is acknowledged that in low‐resource settings, this guideline might be applicable to births up to 28

Next-Generation Sequencing as a Tool to Detect Vaginal Microbiota Disturbances during Pregnancy

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2020
The physiological microbiota of the vagina is responsible for providing a protective barrier, but Some factors can disturb the balance in its composition. At that time, the amounts of the genus Lactobacillus decrease, which may lead to the development of

Endobiota–Estrobolome Profiles in Reproductive‐Aged Women With Ovarian Endometriosis

open access: yesReproductive Medicine and Biology, Volume 25, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This case–control study investigated whether ovarian endometriosis is associated with altered estrogen metabolism and gut or urogenital microbiota by analyzing enzyme activity, bacterial composition, and variations of estrogen metabolites in fecal, vaginal, and urinary samples. Methods Thirty‐eight reproductive‐aged women were enrolled,

Modeling Gardnerella Host-Pathogen Interaction: Characterization of Vaginolysin and the Opacity Phenotype

open access: yes, 2020
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) describes a dysbiotic state of the vaginal mucosa, during which the dominance by beneficial lactobacilli species is lost, the vaginal pH increases, and the flora comprising the vaginal microbiome becomes more diverse.
