Discrimination of Insulation Defects in a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) by use of a Neural Network Based on a Chaos Analysis of Partial Discharge (CAPD) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Engineering and Technology, 2007
In this work, experimental investigation is carried out in order to design and fabricate the UHF sensor that is able to detect the partial discharges produced from 10 artificial defects introduced into the real scale 70kV GIS mock-up under high voltage within a well shielded room. As well, in order to verify the on-site applicability of our method, the

Quantitative Evaluation of Mechanical Defects for Circuit Breakers Based on Self‐Adaptive Fault Feature Tracking

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 297-304, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Many researchers are committed to improving the diagnosis accuracy and solving the few‐shot problem on circuit breakers (CBs). However, the research on the vibration transmission mechanism of the fault is insufficient, which makes it difficult to find the potential design defects of CBs through vibration.

Stress Measurements of GIS Epoxy Composite with Transverse Waves Based on the Ultrasonic Pulse-Echo Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The mechanical reliability of the gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear (GIS) is critical to the safe and stable operation of a power system. The internal stress induced in GIS insulators, which typically lead to cracking, can degrade the mechanical ...

Accurate Harmonic Voltage Measurement Based on Series Resistive‐Capacitive Divider for Gas‐Insulated Switchgear

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement &Technology, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
A series resistive‐capacitive divider for harmonic voltage measurement of gas‐insulated switchgear was studied. It can step down the voltage while amplifying the proportion of harmonics in the total sensed voltage, thereby increasing the significant figure for the measurement and enabling the accurate measurement of high‐order, low‐amplitude harmonics.
