Spin Excitations in a Fermi Gas of Atoms [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2002
We have experimentally investigated a spin excitation in a quantum degenerate Fermi gas of atoms. In the hydrodynamic regime the damping time of the collective excitation is used to probe the quantum behavior of the gas. At temperatures below the Fermi temperature we measure up to a factor of 2 reduction in the excitation damping time.

In silico capture of noble gas atoms with a light atom molecule

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2022
Noble gas atoms can be captured with the tripodal light atom molecule: [(5-Ph2B-xan-4-)3Si·Ng]+. The transformation from “physical” to “chemical” interactions between Ng atom and ligand system is nicely visible along the series He–Kr.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Spray characterization of twin fluid externalmix atomization of pyrolysis oil

open access: yes, 2012
The development of biomass-based energy conversion technologies has gradually been intensified throughout the last decade. The route based on pressurized entrained flow biomass gasification has an important role in this development.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Influence of nozzle gas inlets on properties of GTD222 superalloy powders for additive manufacturing

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu, 2021
The GTD222 superalloy powders for the additive manufacturing were prepared by the vacuum inert gas atomization (VIGA) with the close-coupled nozzle system in this paper.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Numerical Simulation and Verification of Vacuum Induction Melting Gas Atomization

open access: yesApplied Sciences
For the Vacuum Induction Gas Atomization (VIGA) powder preparation process, a multi-scale coupled numerical simulation and experimental validation were employed to systematically reveal the influence mechanisms of process parameters on the primary ...

Characterization of Gas Atomized Ni-Mn-Ga Powders

open access: yesMaterials Today: Proceedings, 2015
Gas atomization is a well-known process for obtaining high quality metallic powders. It produces spherical high-density particles with a controllable particle size distribution. We used gas atomization to obtain two different Ni-Mn-Ga powders and investigated their microstructure, transformation temperatures and magnetic properties as well as the ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
