Mobile Image Ratiometry: A New Method for Instantaneous Analysis of Rapid Test Strips [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Here we describe Mobile Image Ratiometry (MIR), a new method for the automated quantification of standardized rapid immunoassay strips using consumer-based mobile smartphone and tablet cameras.

Controlled Aggregation of Pyrene‐Based Supramolecular Nanostructures for Light‐Driven Switchable H2 or H2O2 Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the self‐assembly of a pyrene derivative into two distinct nanostructures and their application in visible‐light photocatalysis. The two nanostructures exhibit completely different yet complementary photocatalytic activities, promoting either H2 or H2O2 evolution.

Chelate-modified polymers for atmospheric gas chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Chromatographic materials were developed to serve as the stationary phase of columns used in the separation of atmospheric gases. These materials consist of a crosslinked porous polymer matrix, e.g., a divinylbenzene polymer, into which has been embedded

Multifunctional Polyfluoride Ionogel‐Encapsulated Lithium Anodes for Durable and Safe Pouch Cells under Harsh Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, it is developed a multifunctional polyfluoride ionogel via in situ thermal polymerization to encapsulate lithium metal anodes, integrating flame‐retardant capability, hydrophobicity, dynamic self‐healing behavior, and high ionic conductivity.

Diffusion Coefficient Estimations by Thin-Channel Column Inverse Gas Chromatography : Preliminary Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A thin-channel gas chromatography column was designed and used to measure diffusion coefficients of water and iso propanol in polymer phase via inverse gas chromatography (ICC) technique.

Covalent Adaptable Networks with Associative Siloxane Exchange Enabled by Amide‐Based Internal Catalysis: Designing for Reprocessability and Extrudability by Increasing the Cross‐Link Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Internally catalyzed siloxane dynamic chemistry is demonstrated resulting from amides covalently linked through alkyl chains to siloxanes. The alkyl length in the siloxane‐containing monomer tunes the network cross‐link density. Siloxane exchange dynamics are faster with increasing cross‐link density, because associative exchange is second order in ...

Directed Message-Passing Neural Networks for Gas Chromatography

open access: yesSeparations
In this paper, the directed message-passing neural network architecture is used to predict several quantities of interest in gas chromatography: retention times, Clarke-Glew 3-point thermodynamic parameters for simulation, and retention indices.

Isolation and identification of cholesteryl alkyl ethers from bovine cardiac muscle

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1968
Cholesteryl alkyl ethers have been isolated from bovine cardiac muscle and characterized by thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography. The fraction contained at least three homologues. Cholesteryl hexadecyl ether, which accounted for over 90% of the total

Emission of reactive oxygen species during degradation of iron gall ink [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Iron gall inks are characterised by high contents of acids and transition metals, promoting degradation of cellulose due to hydrolysis and oxidation, respectively. Their chemical interaction with the environment is not well understood, especially in view

Metal‐Organic Nanosheet Gels: Hierarchically Porous Materials for Selective Loading and Differential Release

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A suspension of metal‐organic nanosheets was centrifuged to form self‐healing gels with a hierarchically porous structure. The prepared gels were used to selectively capture small molecules from solutions and differentially release them based on their size and charge. Abstract Metal‐organic nanosheets (MONs) are intrinsically porous 2D materials with a
