Effect of leaking natural gas on soil and vegetation in urban areas

open access: yes, 1972
Leakage of natural gas from the gas distribution system affects the physical, chemical and biological processes in the soil. Particularly the microbial oxidation of methane is then of predominant importance for the composition of the soil gas phase.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE FEASIBILITY OF CORNCOB ACTIVATED CARBON FOR ADSORBED NATURAL GAS STORAGE [PDF]

open access: yes
In this study, activated carbon was synthesised from corn cobs through a two-step process involving carbonization at 600°C within an airtight furnace and chemical activation utilising phosphoric acid. The resultant activated carbon derived from corn cobs

Gas content prediction and gas cascade control based on gas geological unit

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2019
Abstract The division of gas geological units in coal mine is the basis of studying the occurrence law of gas geology in coal mine field, which is of great significance to the prediction of regional gas content and gas emission. Taking Weijiadi coalfield in Jingyuan mining area of Gansu Province as an object, this paper divides the ...

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.
