Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Instantaneous Capture and Mineralization of Flue Gas Carbon Dioxide: Pilot Scale Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Multiple CO2 capture and storage (CCS) processes are required to address anthropogenic CO2 problems. However, a method which can directly capture and mineralize CO2 at a point source, under actual field conditions, has advantages and could help offset ...

Study on influence of gas content of coal and gas outburst

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
In order to study the influence of gas content on the strength of coal and gas outburst, a set of device for simulating coal and gas outburst is improved by adding flowmeter and gas pressure sensors. The simulation experiments of coal and gas outburst were carried out with gas content of 7.5m3/t, 8.0m3/t, 8.5m3/t and 9.0m3/t respectively.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Variation of Gas Content in Coalbed Methane Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
At present, the variation of gas content resulted from the surface coalbed methane (CBM) development has not been reported at home. It is introduced that adopting the CBM-SIM software and combining with the key oil and gas special research task, the ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Log Evaluation Method for Adsorbed Gas Amount in Deep Shale Based on Modified BET Multilayer Adsorption Model

open access: yesCejing jishu
Gas content is a key index of shale reservoir evaluation. The gas content is influenced by the coupling of temperature and pressure. Especially under high formation pressure, it’s difficult to accurately predict the adsorbed gas amount of shale ...
