Platinum thin film anodes for solid acid fuel cells [PDF]
Hydrogen electro-oxidation kinetics at the Pt | CsH_2PO_4 interface have been evaluated. Thin films of nanocrystalline platinum 7.5–375 nm thick and 1–19 mm in diameter were sputtered atop polycrystalline discs of the proton-conducting electrolyte ...

Porous Bilayer Electrode‐Guided Gas Diffusion for Enhanced CO2 Electrochemical Reduction
Comparing with the massive efforts in developing innovative catalyst materials system and technologies, structural design of cells has attracted less attention on the road toward high‐performance electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (eCO2RR). Herein, a

Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Water-Splitting Photoelectrolysis Reaction Rate via Microscopic Imaging of Evolved Oxygen Bubbles [PDF]
Bubble formation and growth on a water-splitting semiconductor photoelectrode under illumination with above-bandgap radiation provide a direct measurement of the gas-evolving reaction rate.

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.

New Gas Polarographic Hydrogen Sensor [PDF]
Polarography is the measurement of the current that flows in solution as a function of an applied voltage. The actual form of the observed polarographic current depends upon the manner in which the voltage is applied and on the characteristics of the ...

Mechanism of operation of the TFE-bonded gas-diffusion electrode [PDF]
Mathematical analytical model predicts the performance of an electrode as a function of certain measurable physical characteristics. Concept assumes the catalyst particles form porous electrically conductive agglomerates which are completely flooded with

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
