Mass transport in a hydrogen gas diffusion electrode [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Exptl. data are presented concerning the diffusion-limited c.d. for hydrogen oxidn. in a gas diffusion electrode (GDE) under various conditions. These current densities were obtained using mixts. of hydrogen and inert gases.

Unveiling the effects of dimensionality of tin oxide-derived catalysts on CO2 reduction by using gas-diffusion electrodes

open access: yes, 2021
We report the effects of catalyst dimensionality on electrochemical CO2 conversion to formate by comparing the performance of tin oxide-derived 3D nanoparticles and tin oxide-derived 2D nanosheets deposited on gas-diffusion electrodes.

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.
